कच्चित्कुरूणां परमः सुहृन्नो भामः स आस्ते सुखमङ्ग शौरिः । यो वै स्वसॄणां पितृवद्ददाति वरान् वदान्यो वरतर्पणेन ॥ ३-१-२७ ॥
[Please tell me] whether the best friend of the Kurus, our brother-in-law Vasudeva, is doing well. He is very munificent. He is like a father to his sisters, and he is always pleasing to his wives. ॥ 3-1-27 ॥

[कृपया मुझे बताएँ] कि कुरुओं के सबसे अच्छे मित्र हमारे बहनोई वसुदेव कुशलतापूर्वक तो हैं? वे अत्यन्त दयालु हैं। वे अपनी बहनों के प्रति पिता के तुल्य हैं और अपनी पत्नियों के प्रति सदैव हँसमुख रहते हैं। ॥ ३-१-२७ ॥
