स निर्गतः कौरवपुण्यलब्धो गजाह्वयात्तीर्थपदः पदानि । अन्वाक्रमत्पुण्यचिकीर्षयोर्व्यां स्वधिष्ठितो यानि सहस्रमूर्तिः ।। ३-१-१७ ।।

By his piety, Vidura achieved the advantages of the pious Kauravas. After leaving Hastināpura, he took shelter of many places of pilgrimages, which are the Lord’s lotus feet. With a desire to gain a high order of pious life, he traveled to holy places where thousands of transcendental forms of the Lord are situated. ।। 3-1-17 ।।

english translation

अपने पुण्य के द्वारा विदुर ने पुण्यात्मा कौरवों के सारे लाभ प्राप्त किये। उन्होंने हस्तिनापुर छोडऩे के बाद अनेक तीर्थस्थानों की शरण ग्रहण की जो कि भगवान् के चरणकमल हैं। उच्चकोटि का पवित्र जीवन पाने की इच्छा से उन्होंने उन पवित्र स्थानों की यात्रा की जहाँ भगवान् के हजारों दिव्य रूप स्थित हैं। ।। ३-१-१७ ।।
