यथा हिरण्यं बहुधा समीयते नृभिः क्रियाभिर्व्यवहारवर्त्मसु । एवं वचोभिर्भगवानधोक्षजो व्याख्यायते लौकिकवैदिकैर्जनैः ।। १२-४-३१ ।।

sanskrit

According to their different purposes, men utilize gold in various ways, and gold is therefore perceived in various forms. In the same way, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is inaccessible to material senses, is described in various terms, both ordinary and Vedic, by different types of men. ।। 12-4-31 ।।

english translation

अपने विभिन्न उद्देश्यों के अनुसार, मनुष्य सोने का विभिन्न तरीकों से उपयोग करते हैं, और इसलिए सोने को विभिन्न रूपों में देखा जाता है। उसी तरह, भगवान के परम व्यक्तित्व, जो भौतिक इंद्रियों के लिए अप्राप्य हैं, का वर्णन विभिन्न प्रकार के पुरुषों द्वारा, सामान्य और वैदिक दोनों, विभिन्न शब्दों में किया जाता है। ।। १२-४-३१ ।।

यथा घनोऽर्कप्रभवोऽर्कदर्शितो ह्यर्कांशभूतस्य च चक्षुषस्तमः । एवं त्वहं ब्रह्म गुणस्तदीक्षितो ब्रह्मांशकस्यात्मन आत्मबन्धनः ।। १२-४-३२ ।।

Although a cloud is a product of the sun and is also made visible by the sun, it nevertheless creates darkness for the viewing eye, which is another partial expansion of the sun. Similarly, material false ego, a particular product of the Absolute Truth made visible by the Absolute Truth, obstructs the individual soul, another partial expansion of the Absolute Truth, from realizing the Absolute Truth. ।। 12-4-32 ।।

english translation

यद्यपि बादल सूर्य का एक उत्पाद है और सूर्य द्वारा दृश्यमान भी बनाया जाता है, फिर भी यह देखने वाली आंखों के लिए अंधेरा पैदा करता है, जो सूर्य का एक और आंशिक विस्तार है। इसी प्रकार, भौतिक मिथ्या अहंकार, पूर्ण सत्य का एक विशेष उत्पाद जो पूर्ण सत्य द्वारा दृश्यमान बनाया गया है, व्यक्तिगत आत्मा को, पूर्ण सत्य का एक और आंशिक विस्तार, पूर्ण सत्य का एहसास करने से रोकता है। ।। १२-४-३२ ।।

घनो यदार्कप्रभवो विदीर्यते चक्षुः स्वरूपं रविमीक्षते तदा । यदा ह्यहङ्कार उपाधिरात्मनो जिज्ञासया नश्यति तर्ह्यनुस्मरेत् ।। १२-४-३३ ।।

When the cloud originally produced from the sun is torn apart, the eye can see the actual form of the sun. Similarly, when the spirit soul destroys his material covering of false ego by inquiring into the transcendental science, he regains his original spiritual awareness. ।। 12-4-33 ।।

english translation

जब मूल रूप से सूर्य से उत्पन्न बादल को फाड़ दिया जाता है, तो आँख सूर्य का वास्तविक रूप देख पाती है। इसी प्रकार, जब आत्मा पारलौकिक विज्ञान की खोज करके झूठे अहंकार के अपने भौतिक आवरण को नष्ट कर देती है, तो वह अपनी मूल आध्यात्मिक जागरूकता को पुनः प्राप्त कर लेती है। ।। १२-४-३३ ।।

यदैवमेतेन विवेकहेतिना मायामयाहङ्करणात्मबन्धनम् । छित्त्वाच्युतात्मानुभवोऽवतिष्ठते तमाहुरात्यन्तिकमङ्ग सम्प्लवम् ।। १२-४-३४ ।।

My dear Parīkṣit, when the illusory false ego that binds the soul has been cut off with the sword of discriminating knowledge and one has developed realization of Lord Acyuta, the Supreme Soul, this is called the ātyantika, or ultimate, annihilation of material existence. ।। 12-4-35 ।।

मेरे प्रिय परीक्षित, जब आत्मा को बांधने वाला मायावी मिथ्या अहंकार विवेकपूर्ण ज्ञान की तलवार से काट दिया जाता है और व्यक्ति को भगवान अच्युता, परमात्मा की अनुभूति विकसित हो जाती है, तो इसे भौतिक अस्तित्व का आत्यंतिक, या अंतिम, विनाश कहा जाता है। ।। १२-४-३४ ।।

नित्यदा सर्वभूतानां ब्रह्मादीनां परन्तप । उत्पत्तिप्रलयावेके सूक्ष्मज्ञाः सम्प्रचक्षते ।। १२-४-३५ ।।

Experts in the subtle workings of nature, O subduer of the enemy, have declared that there are continuous processes of creation and annihilation that all created beings, beginning with Brahmā, constantly undergo. ।। 12-4-35 ।।

english translation

हे शत्रु के वश में करने वाले, प्रकृति की सूक्ष्म कार्यप्रणाली के विशेषज्ञों ने घोषणा की है कि सृजन और विनाश की निरंतर प्रक्रियाएँ होती हैं जिनसे ब्रह्मा से लेकर सभी निर्मित प्राणी लगातार गुजरते हैं। ।। १२-४-३५ ।।
