इन्द्रायानम्य सदसि श‍ृण्वतां त्रिदिवौकसाम् । ऊचुर्नारायणबलं शक्रस्तत्रास विस्मितः ।। ११-४-१६ ।।

sanskrit

The servants of the demigods reached the assembly of Indra, and thus, while all the residents of the three heavens listened, they explained to Indra the supreme power of Nārāyaṇa. When Indra heard of Nara-Nārāyaṇa Ṛṣi and became aware of his offense, he was both frightened and astonished. ।। 11-4-16 ।।

english translation

देवताओं के सेवक इंद्र की सभा में पहुंचे, और इस प्रकार, जब तीनों स्वर्गों के सभी निवासियों ने सुना, तो उन्होंने इंद्र को नारायण की सर्वोच्च शक्ति के बारे में समझाया। जब इंद्र ने नारायण ऋषि के बारे में सुना और उनके अपराध के बारे में जाना, तो वह भयभीत और आश्चर्यचकित दोनों थे। ।। ११-४-१६ ।।

हंसस्वरूप्यवददच्युत आत्मयोगं दत्तः कुमार ऋषभो भगवान् पिता नः । विष्णुः शिवाय जगतां कलयावतिर्णस्तेनाहृता मधुभिदा श्रुतयो हयास्ये ।। ११-४-१७ ।।

The infallible Supreme Personality of Godhead, Viṣṇu, has descended into this world by His various partial incarnations such as Lord Haṁsa [the swan], Dattātreya, the four Kumāras and our own father, the mighty Ṛṣabhadeva. By such incarnations, the Lord teaches the science of self-realization for the benefit of the whole universe. In His appearance as Hayagrīva He killed the demon Madhu and thus brought the Vedas back from the hellish planet Pātālaloka. ।। 11-4-17 ।।

english translation

भगवान विष्णु के अचूक सर्वोच्च व्यक्तित्व, भगवान हंस [हंस], दत्तात्रेय, चार कुमारों और हमारे अपने पिता, शक्तिशाली ऋषभदेव जैसे अपने विभिन्न आंशिक अवतारों के साथ इस दुनिया में अवतरित हुए हैं। ऐसे अवतारों द्वारा, भगवान संपूर्ण ब्रह्मांड के लाभ के लिए आत्म-साक्षात्कार का विज्ञान सिखाते हैं। हयग्रीव के रूप में उन्होंने राक्षस मधु को मार डाला और इस प्रकार वेदों को पाताललोक से वापस ले आये। ।। ११-४-१७ ।।

गुप्तोऽप्यये मनुरिलौषधयश्च मात्स्ये क्रौडे हतो दितिज उद्धरताम्भसः क्ष्माम् । कौर्मे धृतोऽद्रिरमृतोन्मथने स्वपृष्ठे ग्राहात्प्रपन्नमिभराजममुञ्चदार्तम् ।। ११-४-१८ ।।

In His appearance as a fish, the Lord protected Satyavrata Manu, the earth and her valuable herbs. He protected them from the waters of annihilation. As a boar, the Lord killed Hiraṇyākṣa, the son of Diti, while delivering the earth from the universal waters. And as a tortoise, He lifted Mandara Mountain on His back so that nectar could be churned from the ocean. The Lord saved the surrendered king of the elephants, Gajendra, who was suffering terrible distress from the grips of a crocodile. ।। 11-4-18 ।।

english translation

मछली के रूप में प्रकट होकर भगवान ने सत्यव्रत मनु, पृथ्वी और उसकी बहुमूल्य जड़ी-बूटियों की रक्षा की। उसने उन्हें विनाश के जल से बचाया। सूअर के रूप में भगवान ने पृथ्वी को विश्व जल से मुक्ति दिलाते समय दिति के पुत्र हिरण्यक्ष को मार डाला। और एक कछुए के रूप में, उन्होंने मंदरा पर्वत को अपनी पीठ पर उठा लिया ताकि समुद्र से अमृत निकाला जा सके। भगवान ने हाथियों के आत्मसमर्पण करने वाले राजा गजेंद्र को बचाया, जो एक मगरमच्छ की पकड़ से भयानक संकट झेल रहा था। ।। ११-४-१८ ।।

संस्तुन्वतोऽब्धिपतितान् श्रमणानृषींश्च शक्रं च वृत्रवधतस्तमसि प्रविष्टम् । देवस्त्रियोऽसुरगृहे पिहिता अनाथा जघ्नेऽसुरेन्द्रमभयाय सतां नृसिंहे ।। ११-४-१९ ।।

The Lord also delivered the tiny ascetic sages called the Vālakhilyas when they fell into the water in a cow’s hoofprint and Indra was laughing at them. The Lord then saved Indra when Indra was covered by darkness due to the sinful reaction for killing Vṛtrāsura. When the wives of the demigods were trapped in the palace of the demons without any shelter, the Lord saved them. In His incarnation as Nṛsiṁha, the Lord killed Hiraṇyakaśipu, the king of demons, to free the saintly devotees from fear. ।। 11-4-19 ।।

english translation

भगवान ने वलाखिल्य नामक छोटे तपस्वी ऋषियों का भी उद्धार किया जब वे गाय के खुर के निशान के साथ पानी में गिर गए थे और इंद्र उन पर हंस रहे थे। जब वृत्रासुर को मारने के पाप के कारण इंद्र अंधकार में डूब गए थे तब भगवान ने इंद्र की रक्षा की थी। जब देवताओं की पत्नियाँ बिना किसी आश्रय के राक्षसों के महल में फंस गईं, तो भगवान ने उन्हें बचाया। नृसिंह अवतार में भगवान ने साधु भक्तों को भय से मुक्त करने के लिए राक्षसों के राजा हिरण्यकशिपु का वध किया। ।। ११-४-१९ ।।

देवासुरे युधि च दैत्यपतीन् सुरार्थे हत्वान्तरेषु भुवनान्यदधात्कलाभिः । भूत्वाथ वामन इमामहरद्बलेः क्ष्मां याच्ञाच्छलेन समदाददितेः सुतेभ्यः ।। ११-४-२० ।।

The Supreme Lord regularly takes advantage of the wars between the demons and demigods to kill the leaders of the demons. The Lord thus encourages the demigods by protecting the universe through His various incarnations during the reigns of each Manu. The Lord also appeared as Vāmana and took the earth away from Bali Mahārāja on the plea of begging three steps of land. The Lord then returned the entire world to the sons of Aditi. ।। 11-4-20 ।।

english translation

सर्वोच्च भगवान नियमित रूप से राक्षसों के नेताओं को मारने के लिए राक्षसों और देवताओं के बीच युद्ध का लाभ उठाते हैं। इस प्रकार भगवान प्रत्येक मनु के शासनकाल के दौरान अपने विभिन्न अवतारों के माध्यम से ब्रह्मांड की रक्षा करके देवताओं को प्रोत्साहित करते हैं। भगवान वामन के रूप में भी प्रकट हुए और बलि महाराज से तीन पग भूमि मांगने के अनुरोध पर उनसे पृथ्वी छीन ली। तब भगवान ने सारा संसार अदिति के पुत्रों को लौटा दिया। ।। ११-४-२० ।।
