सन्निपातस्त्वहमिति ममेत्युद्धव या मतिः । व्यवहारः सन्निपातो मनो मात्रेन्द्रियासुभिः ।। ११-२५-६ ।।

sanskrit

My dear Uddhava, the combination of all three modes is present in the mentality of “I” and “mine.” The ordinary transactions of this world, which are carried out through the agency of the mind, the objects of perception, the senses and the vital airs of the physical body, are also based on the combination of the modes. ।। 11-25-6 ।।

english translation

मेरे प्रिय उद्धव, तीनों गुणों का संयोजन "मैं" और "मेरा" की मानसिकता में मौजूद है। इस दुनिया के सामान्य लेन-देन, जो मन की एजेंसी, धारणा की वस्तुओं, इंद्रियों और भौतिक शरीर की महत्वपूर्ण वायु के माध्यम से किए जाते हैं, भी तरीकों के संयोजन पर आधारित होते हैं। ।। ११-२५-६ ।।

धर्मे चार्थे च कामे च यदासौ परिनिष्ठितः । गुणानां सन्निकर्षोऽयं श्रद्धारतिधनावहः ।। ११-२५-७ ।।

sanskrit

When a person devotes himself to religiosity, economic development and sense gratification, the faith, wealth and sensual enjoyment obtained by his endeavors display the interaction of the three modes of nature. ।। 11-25-7 ।।

english translation

जब कोई व्यक्ति खुद को धार्मिकता, आर्थिक विकास और इंद्रिय संतुष्टि के लिए समर्पित करता है, तो उसके प्रयासों से प्राप्त आस्था, धन और कामुक आनंद प्रकृति के तीन गुणों की परस्पर क्रिया को प्रदर्शित करते हैं। ।। ११-२५-७ ।।

प्रवृत्तिलक्षणे निष्ठा पुमान् यर्हि गृहाश्रमे । स्वधर्मे चानुतिष्ठेत गुणानां समितिर्हि सा ।। ११-२५-८ ।।

When a man desires sense gratification, being attached to family life, and when he consequently becomes established in religious and occupational duties, the combination of the modes of nature is manifest. ।। 11-25-8 ।।

जब कोई व्यक्ति पारिवारिक जीवन से आसक्त होकर इन्द्रियतृप्ति की इच्छा करता है, और परिणामस्वरूप जब वह धार्मिक तथा व्यावसायिक कर्तव्यों में स्थापित हो जाता है, तो प्रकृति के गुणों का संयोजन प्रकट होता है। ।। ११-२५-८ ।।

पुरुषं सत्त्वसंयुक्तमनुमीयाच्छमादिभिः । कामादिभी रजोयुक्तं क्रोधाद्यैस्तमसा युतम् ।। ११-२५-९ ।।

sanskrit

A person exhibiting qualities such as self-control is understood to be predominantly in the mode of goodness. Similarly, a passionate person is recognized by his lust, and one in ignorance is recognized by qualities such as anger. ।। 11-25-9 ।।

english translation

आत्म-नियंत्रण जैसे गुणों का प्रदर्शन करने वाले व्यक्ति को मुख्यतः सतोगुणी माना जाता है। इसी प्रकार, एक भावुक व्यक्ति अपनी वासना से पहचाना जाता है, और एक अज्ञानी व्यक्ति क्रोध जैसे गुणों से पहचाना जाता है। ।। ११-२५-९ ।।

यदा भजति मां भक्त्या निरपेक्षः स्वकर्मभिः । तं सत्त्वप्रकृतिं विद्यात्पुरुषं स्त्रियमेव वा ।। ११-२५-१० ।।

sanskrit

Any person, whether man or woman, who worships Me with loving devotion, offering his or her prescribed duties unto Me without material attachment, is understood to be situated in goodness. ।। 11-25-10 ।।

english translation

कोई भी व्यक्ति, चाहे वह पुरुष हो या महिला, जो प्रेमपूर्ण भक्ति के साथ मेरी पूजा करता है, भौतिक आसक्ति के बिना अपने निर्धारित कर्तव्यों को मुझे अर्पित करता है, वह अच्छाई में स्थित माना जाता है। ।। ११-२५-१० ।।
