श्रुतं च दृष्टवद्दुष्टं स्पर्धासूयात्ययव्ययैः । बह्वन्तरायकामत्वात्कृषिवच्चापि निष्फलम् ।। ११-१०-२१ ।।

sanskrit

That material happiness of which we hear, such as promotion to heavenly planets for celestial enjoyment, is just like that material happiness we have already experienced. Both are polluted by jealousy, envy, decay and death. Therefore, just as an attempt to raise crops becomes fruitless if there are many problems like crop disease, insect plague or drought, similarly, the attempt to attain material happiness, either on earth or on the heavenly planets, is always fruitless because of innumerable obstacles. ।। 11-10-21 ।।

english translation

वह भौतिक सुख जिसके बारे में हम सुनते हैं, जैसे कि दिव्य आनंद के लिए स्वर्गीय ग्रहों पर पदोन्नति, वह उस भौतिक सुख के समान है जिसे हम पहले ही अनुभव कर चुके हैं। दोनों ईर्ष्या, द्वेष, क्षय और मृत्यु से प्रदूषित हैं। इसलिए, जिस प्रकार फसल उगाने का प्रयास फसल की बीमारी, कीट प्लेग या सूखा जैसी कई समस्याएं होने पर निरर्थक हो जाता है, उसी प्रकार, पृथ्वी पर या स्वर्गीय ग्रहों पर भौतिक सुख प्राप्त करने का प्रयास असंख्य बाधाओं के कारण हमेशा निरर्थक होता है। ।। ११-१०-२१ ।।

अन्तरायैरविहतो यदि धर्मः स्वनुष्ठितः । तेनापि निर्जितं स्थानं यथा गच्छति तच्छृणु ।। ११-१०-२२ ।।

sanskrit

If one performs Vedic sacrifices and fruitive rituals without any mistake or contamination, one will achieve a heavenly situation in the next life. But even this result, which is only achieved by perfect performance of fruitive rituals, will be vanquished by time. Now hear of this. ।। 11-10-22 ।।

english translation

यदि कोई बिना किसी गलती या प्रदूषण के वैदिक यज्ञ और सकाम अनुष्ठान करता है, तो उसे अगले जीवन में स्वर्गीय स्थिति प्राप्त होगी। परंतु यह परिणाम भी, जो केवल सकाम अनुष्ठानों के पूर्ण पालन से ही प्राप्त होता है, समय के द्वारा नष्ट हो जाएगा। अब इसके बारे में सुनो। ।। ११-१०-२२ ।।

If on earth one performs sacrifices for the satisfaction of the demigods, he goes to the heavenly planets, where, just like a demigod, he enjoys all of the heavenly pleasures he has earned by his performances. ।। 11-10-23 ।।

यदि पृथ्वी पर कोई देवताओं की संतुष्टि के लिए यज्ञ करता है, तो वह स्वर्गीय ग्रहों में जाता है, जहां, एक देवता की तरह, वह अपने प्रदर्शन से अर्जित सभी स्वर्गीय सुखों का आनंद लेता है। ।। ११-१०-२३ ।।

Having achieved the heavenly planets, the performer of ritualistic sacrifices travels in a glowing airplane, which he obtains as the result of his piety on earth. Being glorified by songs sung by the Gandharvas and dressed in wonderfully charming clothes, he enjoys life surrounded by heavenly goddesses. ।। 11-10-24 ।।

स्वर्गीय ग्रहों को प्राप्त करने के बाद, अनुष्ठानिक यज्ञ करने वाला एक चमकदार विमान में यात्रा करता है, जिसे वह पृथ्वी पर अपनी धर्मपरायणता के परिणामस्वरूप प्राप्त करता है। गंधर्वों द्वारा गाए गए गीतों से महिमामंडित होकर और अद्भुत आकर्षक वस्त्र पहनकर, वह स्वर्गीय देवी-देवताओं से घिरा हुआ जीवन का आनंद लेता है। ।। ११-१०-२४ ।।

Accompanied by heavenly women, the enjoyer of the fruits of sacrifice goes on pleasure rides in a wonderful airplane, which is decorated with circles of tinkling bells and which flies wherever he desires. Being relaxed, comfortable and happy in the heavenly pleasure gardens, he does not consider that he is exhausting the fruits of his piety and will soon fall down to the mortal world. ।। 11-10-25 ।।

यज्ञ के फल का भोक्ता स्वर्गीय स्त्रियों के साथ एक अद्भुत विमान में आनंदपूर्वक यात्रा करता है, जो खनकती घंटियों के घेरे से सुशोभित होता है और जहाँ उसकी इच्छा हो वहाँ उड़ जाता है। स्वर्गीय आनंद उद्यानों में निश्चिंत, आरामदायक और खुश रहते हुए, वह यह नहीं मानता कि वह अपनी धर्मपरायणता के फल को समाप्त कर रहा है और जल्द ही नश्वर दुनिया में गिर जाएगा। ।। ११-१०-२५ ।।
