गते तस्मिन्महादेवे स शिलादो महामुनिः।। स्वमाश्रयमुपागम्य ऋषिभ्योऽकथयत्ततः ।। ३६।।

After lord Śiva had disappeared, the great sage Śilāda returned to his hermitage and mentioned the tidings to the sages.

gate tasminmahAdeve sa zilAdo mahAmuniH|| svamAzrayamupAgamya RSibhyo'kathayattataH || 36||

कियता चैव कालेन तदासौ जनकः स मे।। यज्ञांगणं चकर्षाशु यज्ञार्थं यज्ञवित्तमः।। ३७।।

After a short while, my father, the foremost among those who knew the sacrificial rites, ordered for the construction of the sacrificial altar for the performance of sacrifice.

english translation

kiyatA caiva kAlena tadAsau janakaH sa me|| yajJAMgaNaM cakarSAzu yajJArthaM yajJavittamaH|| 37||

ततः क्षणादहं शंभोस्तनुजस्तस्य चाज्ञया।। स जातः पूर्व्वमेवाहं युगान्ताग्निसमप्रभः ।। ३८ ।।

But before the beginning of sacrifice I was born as Śiva’s son at his bidding, with a lustre as brilliant as the fire at the end of a Yuga.

tataH kSaNAdahaM zaMbhostanujastasya cAjJayA|| sa jAtaH pUrvvamevAhaM yugAntAgnisamaprabhaH || 38 ||

अवर्षंस्तदा पुष्करावर्तकाद्या जगुः खेचराः किन्नराः सिद्धसाध्या ।। शिलादात्मजत्वं गते मय्यृषीन्द्रास्समन्ताच्च वृष्टिं व्यधुः कौसुमीं ते।। ३९।।

Then Puṣkarāvartaka and other clouds showered. When I was born as the son of Śilāda, the Kinnaras, Siddhas, Sādhyas and other beings walked through the sky and the great sages made showers of flowers all round.

avarSaMstadA puSkarAvartakAdyA jaguH khecarAH kinnarAH siddhasAdhyA || zilAdAtmajatvaM gate mayyRSIndrAssamantAcca vRSTiM vyadhuH kausumIM te|| 39||

अथ ब्रह्मादयो देवा देवपल्यश्च सर्वशः ।। तत्राजग्मुश्च सुप्रीत्या हरिश्चैव शिवोऽम्बिका।। ४०।।

Then Brahmā and other gods together with their wives, Viṣṇu, Śiva and Pārvatī came there lovingly.

atha brahmAdayo devA devapalyazca sarvazaH || tatrAjagmuzca suprItyA harizcaiva zivo'mbikA|| 40||
