॥ नन्दीश्वर उवाच ॥ शृणु तात महेशस्यावतारान्परमान्प्रभो ॥ सर्वकार्यकराँल्लोके सर्वस्य सुखदान्मुने ॥१॥
Nandīśvara said:— O dear sage, listen to the great incarnations of lord Śiva that carry out all worldly activities and bestow happiness on all.
english translation
तस्य शंभोः परेशस्य मूर्त्यष्टकमयं जगत् ॥ तस्मिन्व्याप्य स्थितं विश्वं सूत्रे मणिगणा इव ॥२॥
The universe consists of the eight forms of lord Śiva. Pervading that the universe subsists like the pearls in the string.
english translation
शर्वो भवस्तथा रुद्र उग्रो भीमः पशो पतिः ॥ ईशानश्च महादेवो मूर्तयश्चाष्ट विश्रुताः ॥ ३ ॥
The eight presiding deities are Śarva, Bhava, Rudra, Ugra, Bhīma, Paśupati, Īśāna and Mahādeva. They are well known.

भूम्यंभोग्निमरुद्व्योमक्षेत्रज्ञार्कनिशाकराः ॥ अधिष्ठिताश्च शर्वाद्यैरष्टरूपैः शिवस्य हि ॥४॥
By these eight forms of Śiva, viz. Śarva etc, the earth, the waters, the fire, the wind, the sky, the individual soul, the sun and the moon are presided over.

धत्ते चराचरं विश्वं रूपं विश्वंभरात्मकम् ॥ शंकरस्य महेशस्य शास्त्रस्यैवेति निश्चयः ॥ ५ ॥
The conclusion of all sacred lore is that the form of lord Śiva consisting of the earth that holds the entire universe of the mobile and immobile beings is called Śarva.
