नन्दीश्वर उवाच ॥ सनत्कुमार सर्वज्ञ भैरवीमपरां कथाम् ॥ शृणु प्रीत्या महादोषसंहर्त्रीम्भक्तिवर्द्धिनीम् ॥ १ ॥
Nandīśvara said:— O omniscient Sanatkumāra, listen lovingly to another story of Bhairava that destroys all defects and enhances devotion.
english translation
तत्सान्निध्यं भैरवोऽपि कालोऽभूत्कालकालनः ॥ स देवदेववाक्येन बिभ्रत्कापालिकं व्रतम् ॥ २ ॥
Due to Brahmahatyā’s presence Bhairava began to calculate the time for release. At the words of the lord of gods, he kept on the rite of Kāpālika.
english translation
कपालपाणिर्विश्वात्मा चचार भुवनत्रयम् ॥ नात्याक्षीच्चापि तं देवं ब्रह्महत्यापि दारुणा ॥ ३ ॥
He, the soul of the universe, roamed over the three worlds with the skull in his hand. The terrible Brahmahatyā never left Bhairava.
english translation
प्रतितीर्थं भ्रमन्वापि विमुक्तो ब्रह्महत्यया ॥ अतः कामारिमहिमा सर्वोपि ह्यवगम्यताम् ॥ ४ ॥
Although he went to every holy centre, he was not left off by Brahmahatyā. Let the greatness of Śiva, the enemy of Kāma, be understood thereby.
english translation
प्रमथैः सेव्यमानोऽपि ह्येकदा विहरन्हरः ॥ कापालिको ययौ स्वैरी नारायणनिकेतनम् ॥ ५ ॥
Once, while sporting about, being attended upon by Pramathas, Bhairava went as he pleased, to the abode of Viṣṇu.
