Descendant of the Raghus hold Mandavi's hand in your own.' The honourable king of Mithila also said to Shatrughna: . - ॥ 1-73-32॥

Let there be no delay. Janaka, having spoken thus to him ( Lakshmana ), also addressed Bharata: . - ॥ 1-73-31॥

On handing over his ( king Janaka ) daughter Seeta, duly sanctified with sanctified waters ( by mantras ) - ॥ 1-73-29॥

    इत्युक्त्वा प्राक्षिपद्राजा मंत्रपूतं जलं तदा । साधु साध्विति देवानामृषीणां वदतां तदा ॥ १-७३-२८ityuktvA prAkSipadrAjA maMtrapUtaM jalaM tadA । sAdhu sAdhviti devAnAmRSINAM vadatAM tadA ॥ 1-73-28Thus spoken, he ( king Janaka ) sprinkled the water sanctified with mantras (on them). Then gods and sages exclaimed: 'well, well'. ॥ 1-73-28॥

    प्रतीच्छ चैनां भद्रं ते पाणिं गृह्णीष्व पाणिना । पतिव्रता महभागा छायेवानुगता सदा ॥ १-७३-२७pratIccha cainAM bhadraM te pANiM gRhNISva pANinA । pativratA mahabhAgA chAyevAnugatA sadA ॥ 1-73-27- Accept her wishfully, let safeness betide you, take her palm into your palm. By being a devoted wife and highly fortunate, she would always follow you like a shadow.' ॥ 1-73-27॥

    अग्निमाधाय तं वेद्यां विधिमंत्रपुरस्कृतम् । जुहावाग्नौ महातेजा वशिष्ठो मुनिपुंगव ॥ १-७३-२४agnimAdhAya taM vedyAM vidhimaMtrapuraskRtam । juhAvAgnau mahAtejA vaziSTho munipuMgava ॥ 1-73-24Great resplendent, eminent-sage Vashishtha placed the fire on the altar, recited the mantras from the scriptures and offered oblations into the flame ( according to tradition ). ॥ 1-73-24॥

( Rishi Vasishtha) chanted, mantras according to tradition, put the Kusha ( sacred grass ) of equal proportions ( around the altar ). ॥ 1-73-23॥
