Rama, Oh ! Sita, Oh ! Lakshamana'. ॥ 2-72-36॥

Thus questioned (by Bharata), Kaikeyi related the exact facts ॥ 2-72-35॥

    धर्मविद्धर्मनित्यश्च सत्यसन्धो दृढव्रतः । आर्यः किमब्रवीद्राजा पिता मे सत्यविक्रमः ॥ २-७२-३४dharmaviddharmanityazca satyasandho dRDhavrataH । AryaH kimabravIdrAjA pitA me satyavikramaH ॥ 2-72-34What did my father, the noble king, conversant with righteous conduct, true to his vows, one who always conducted himself in a righteous manner, whose truth was his prowess (at the time of his death)? ॥ 2-72-34॥

    पिता हि भवति ज्येष्ठो धर्ममार्यस्य जानतः । तस्य पादौ ग्रहीष्यामि स हीदानीं गतिर्मम ॥ २-७२-३३pitA hi bhavati jyeSTho dharmamAryasya jAnataH । tasya pAdau grahISyAmi sa hIdAnIM gatirmama ॥ 2-72-33To one who knows the ways of righteouness the elder brother is (like) the father. Indeed, he (Rama) is my refuge and I shall hold his feet now. ॥ 2-72-33॥
