- siva.sh/manusmriti/2/97वेदास्त्यागश्च यज्ञाश्च नियमाश्च तपांसि च । न विप्रदुष्टभावस्य सिद्धिं गच्छति कर्हि चित् ॥ ९७ ॥vedAstyAgazca yajJAzca niyamAzca tapAMsi ca । na vipraduSTabhAvasya siddhiM gacchati karhi cit ॥ 97 ॥Neither (the study of) the Vedas, nor liberality, nor sacrifices, nor any (self-imposed) restraint, nor austerities, ever procure the attainment (of rewards) to a man whose heart is contaminated (by sensuality).

Upon realizing the Supreme Personality of Godhead, you should then give up that ax of analytic knowledge. ॥ 11-12-24 ॥

Being very intelligent, the shy girl broke the shell bracelets from her arms, leaving just two on each wrist. ॥ 11-9-7 ॥

At that time a few men arrived at the house, specifically desiring to marry her. She received them with all hospitality. ॥ 11-9-5 ॥
