What should I do, or what should I not do, to avoid suffering? Therefore, I remain vigilant and avoid distress.' ॥ 1-84-11 ॥

Subject to fate, some have lost their authority through their own actions. Therefore, a wise person should not destroy others for their own gain, thinking, "I am powerful."' ॥ 1-84-6 ॥

Those who are virtuous do not engage in it. It is such as this, just as the proponent of their interest.' ॥ 1-84-4 ॥

- siva.sh/manusmriti/5/66रात्रिभिर्मासतुल्याभिर्गर्भस्रावे विशुध्यति । रजस्युपरते साध्वी स्नानेन स्त्री रजस्वला ॥ ६६ ॥rAtribhirmAsatulyAbhirgarbhasrAve vizudhyati । rajasyuparate sAdhvI snAnena strI rajasvalA ॥ 66 ॥(A woman) is purified on a miscarriage in as many (days and) nights as months (elapsed after conception), and a menstruating female becomes pure by bathing after the menstrual secretion has ceased (to flow).

Yet, it is held that true reverence is due to those who excel in wisdom and ascetic virtue."' ॥ 1-84-3 ॥
