    अभार्याश्च सभार्याश्च सन्त्यत्र वनचारिणः । लुब्धेभ्यो विप्रयुक्तेभ्यस्तेभ्यो नस्तुमुलं भयम् ॥ ४-१९-१६abhAryAzca sabhAryAzca santyatra vanacAriNaH । lubdhebhyo viprayuktebhyastebhyo nastumulaM bhayam ॥ 4-19-16'There are monkeys wandering in the forest ( sent away by Vali ). Some of them have made others' wives their own and some have been separated from their wives. They are a great cause of fear.' ॥ 4-19-16॥

All the monkeys will serve him when he assumes power. ॥ 4-19-14॥

    अभिद्रुतमिदं सर्वं विद्रुतं प्रसृतं बलम् । अस्मिन् प्लवगशार्दूले हते शक्रसमप्रभे ॥ ४-१९-१३abhidrutamidaM sarvaM vidrutaM prasRtaM balam । asmin plavagazArdUle hate zakrasamaprabhe ॥ 4-19-13'When Vali who was equal to Indra in strength, a tiger among monkeys, was killed, the army of monkeys got terrified and ran away here and there, scattered in different directions. ॥ 4-19-13॥

    क्षिप्तान् वृक्षान्समाविध्य विपुलाश्च शिलास्तथा । वाली वज्रसमैर्बाणै रामेण विनिपातितः ॥ ४-१९-१२kSiptAn vRkSAnsamAvidhya vipulAzca zilAstathA । vAlI vajrasamairbANai rAmeNa vinipAtitaH ॥ 4-19-12'Rama smashed the trees and stones Vali hurled at him and then struck him down with thunderbolt like arrows. ॥ 4-19-12॥

    जीवपुत्रे निवर्तस्व पुत्रं रक्षस्व चाङ्गदम् । अन्तको रामरूपेण हत्वा नयति वालिनम् ॥ ४-१९-११jIvaputre nivartasva putraM rakSasva cAGgadam । antako rAmarUpeNa hatvA nayati vAlinam ॥ 4-19-11- 'O mother, your son is still alive. Go back and protect your son Angada. Lord of death in the form of Rama has come and killed Vali and is carrying him away. ॥ 4-19-11॥

    कपिपत्न्या वचश्श्रुत्वा कपयः कामरूपिणः । प्राप्तकालमविक्लिष्टमूचुर्वचनमङ्गनाम् ॥ ४-१९-१०kapipatnyA vacazzrutvA kapayaH kAmarUpiNaH । prAptakAlamavikliSTamUcurvacanamaGganAm ॥ 4-19-10On hearing Tara, the wife of Vali, the monkeys who could assume any form at their will replied with clear words appropriate to the occasion ॥ 4-19-10॥

    राज्यहेतोस्स चेद्भ्राता भ्रात्रा रौद्रेण पातितः । रामेण प्रहितैरौद्रैर्मार्गणैर्दूरपातिभिः ॥ ४-१९-९rAjyahetossa cedbhrAtA bhrAtrA raudreNa pAtitaH । rAmeNa prahitairaudrairmArgaNairdUrapAtibhiH ॥ 4-19-9'If the ( elder ) brother is struck down by his ( younger ) brother in anger for the sake of kingship using far-reaching arrows discharged by Rama, why are you running?' ॥ 4-19-9॥

    वानराः राजसिंहस्य यस्य यूयं पुरस्सराः । तं विहाय सुसन्त्रस्ताः कस्माद्द्रवथ दुर्गताः ॥ ४-१९-८vAnarAH rAjasiMhasya yasya yUyaM purassarAH । taM vihAya susantrastAH kasmAddravatha durgatAH ॥ 4-19-8- 'O monkeys deserting the lion among kings, whose servants you are? What should you be frightened for? Why run away in distress? ॥ 4-19-8॥

    तानुवाच समासाद्य दुःखितान्दुखिता सती । रामवित्रासितान्सर्वाननुबद्धानिवेषुभिः ॥ ४-१९-७tAnuvAca samAsAdya duHkhitAndukhitA satI । rAmavitrAsitAnsarvAnanubaddhAniveSubhiH ॥ 4-19-7Sorrowful Tara, the wife of Vali, duly approaching the monkeys stricken with grief and running as if chased by the arrows of Rama at their back, said to them ॥ 4-19-7॥
