दे॒वान्हु॑वे बृ॒हच्छ्र॑वसः स्व॒स्तये॑ ज्योति॒ष्कृतो॑ अध्व॒रस्य॒ प्रचे॑तसः । ये वा॑वृ॒धुः प्र॑त॒रं वि॒श्ववे॑दस॒ इन्द्र॑ज्येष्ठासो अ॒मृता॑ ऋता॒वृध॑: ॥ देवान्हुवे बृहच्छ्रवसः स्वस्तये ज्योतिष्कृतो अध्वरस्य प्रचेतसः । ये वावृधुः प्रतरं विश्ववेदस इन्द्रज्येष्ठासो अमृता ऋतावृधः ॥

I invoke for the success of the sacrifice the gods, who bestow abundant food, the diffusers of light, theextremely wise who flourish mightily, abounding in all riches, having Indra as their chief, immortal, augmented by sacrifice.

english translation

इन्द्र॑प्रसूता॒ वरु॑णप्रशिष्टा॒ ये सूर्य॑स्य॒ ज्योति॑षो भा॒गमा॑न॒शुः । म॒रुद्ग॑णे वृ॒जने॒ मन्म॑ धीमहि॒ माघो॑ने य॒ज्ञं ज॑नयन्त सू॒रय॑: ॥ इन्द्रप्रसूता वरुणप्रशिष्टा ये सूर्यस्य ज्योतिषो भागमानशुः । मरुद्गणे वृजने मन्म धीमहि माघोने यज्ञं जनयन्त सूरयः ॥

We offer praise to the company of the Maruts, the attendants upon Maghavan, who, encouraged byIndra, and instrumental ucted by Varuṇa, have acquired a portion of the light of the sun; the wise worshippers be get the sacrifice.”

english translation

इन्द्रो॒ वसु॑भि॒: परि॑ पातु नो॒ गय॑मादि॒त्यैर्नो॒ अदि॑ति॒: शर्म॑ यच्छतु । रु॒द्रो रु॒द्रेभि॑र्दे॒वो मृ॑ळयाति न॒स्त्वष्टा॑ नो॒ ग्नाभि॑: सुवि॒ताय॑ जिन्वतु ॥ इन्द्रो वसुभिः परि पातु नो गयमादित्यैर्नो अदितिः शर्म यच्छतु । रुद्रो रुद्रेभिर्देवो मृळयाति नस्त्वष्टा नो ग्नाभिः सुविताय जिन्वतु ॥

May Indra with the Vasus guard our dwelling; may Aditi with the Ādityas grant us felicity; may thedivine Rudra with the Rudras make us happy;may Tvaṣṭā with the wives of the gods be favourable to us for our prosperity.

अदि॑ति॒र्द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी ऋ॒तं म॒हदिन्द्रा॒विष्णू॑ म॒रुत॒: स्व॑र्बृ॒हत् । दे॒वाँ आ॑दि॒त्याँ अव॑से हवामहे॒ वसू॑न्रु॒द्रान्त्स॑वि॒तारं॑ सु॒दंस॑सम् ॥ अदितिर्द्यावापृथिवी ऋतं महदिन्द्राविष्णू मरुतः स्वर्बृहत् । देवाँ आदित्याँ अवसे हवामहे वसून्रुद्रान्त्सवितारं सुदंससम् ॥

Aditi, heaven and earth, the mighty Truth (Agni), Indra, Viṣṇu, the Maruts, the great sun-- (these) weinvoke for our protection, as well as the divine Ādityas, the Vasus, the Rudras, and Savitā, the accomplisher of good works.

सर॑स्वान्धी॒भिर्वरु॑णो धृ॒तव्र॑तः पू॒षा विष्णु॑र्महि॒मा वा॒युर॒श्विना॑ । ब्र॒ह्म॒कृतो॑ अ॒मृता॑ वि॒श्ववे॑दस॒: शर्म॑ नो यंसन्त्रि॒वरू॑थ॒मंह॑सः ॥ सरस्वान्धीभिर्वरुणो धृतव्रतः पूषा विष्णुर्महिमा वायुरश्विना । ब्रह्मकृतो अमृता विश्ववेदसः शर्म नो यंसन्त्रिवरूथमंहसः ॥

May Sarasvatī, (endowed) with intelligences, Varuṇa the observer of oblations, Pūṣan, Viṣṇu, themighty Vāyu, the Aśvins, (may these) the bestowers of food upon worshippers, immortal, the possessors of allwealth, grant us a habitation triply-guarded from evil.

Verses 6-10
