त्वया॑ व॒यं म॑घव॒न्पूर्व्ये॒ धन॒ इन्द्र॑त्वोताः सासह्याम पृतन्य॒तो व॑नु॒याम॑ वनुष्य॒तः । नेदि॑ष्ठे अ॒स्मिन्नह॒न्यधि॑ वोचा॒ नु सु॑न्व॒ते । अ॒स्मिन्य॒ज्ञे वि च॑येमा॒ भरे॑ कृ॒तं वा॑ज॒यन्तो॒ भरे॑ कृ॒तम् ॥ त्वया वयं मघवन्पूर्व्ये धन इन्द्रत्वोताः सासह्याम पृतन्यतो वनुयाम वनुष्यतः । नेदिष्ठे अस्मिन्नहन्यधि वोचा नु सुन्वते । अस्मिन्यज्ञे वि चयेमा भरे कृतं वाजयन्तो भरे कृतम् ॥

(Possessed of) former opulence, Maghavan, (through your bounty); protected, Indra, by you, may we overcome those who are arrayed in (hostile) hoste; may we anticipate (our) assailants. (The sacrifice) of today being nigh, speak encouragingly to the presenter of the libation; may we bring together at this rite (suitable offerings and praises) to you, the victor in war; worshipping you, the victor in war.

स्व॒र्जे॒षे भर॑ आ॒प्रस्य॒ वक्म॑न्युष॒र्बुध॒: स्वस्मि॒न्नञ्ज॑सि क्रा॒णस्य॒ स्वस्मि॒न्नञ्ज॑सि । अह॒न्निन्द्रो॒ यथा॑ वि॒दे शी॒र्ष्णाशी॑र्ष्णोप॒वाच्य॑: । अ॒स्म॒त्रा ते॑ स॒ध्र्य॑क्सन्तु रा॒तयो॑ भ॒द्रा भ॒द्रस्य॑ रा॒तय॑: ॥ स्वर्जेषे भर आप्रस्य वक्मन्युषर्बुधः स्वस्मिन्नञ्जसि क्राणस्य स्वस्मिन्नञ्जसि । अहन्निन्द्रो यथा विदे शीर्ष्णाशीर्ष्णोपवाच्यः । अस्मत्रा ते सध्र्यक्सन्तु रातयो भद्रा भद्रस्य रातयः ॥

In the combat which secures heaven, Indra, (treading) in the appropriate and straight path of the active (combatant), as well as in his own appropriate and straight (path), destroys (the adversary) of him who wakes at dawn and celebrates (pious rites); he therefore to be adored with the head (bowed down), as revernce is paid by prostration to a holy sage. May your treasures, (Indra), be accusative ulated upon us; may the treasures of you who are auspicious be auspicious (to us).

तत्तु प्रय॑: प्र॒त्नथा॑ ते शुशुक्व॒नं यस्मि॑न्य॒ज्ञे वार॒मकृ॑ण्वत॒ क्षय॑मृ॒तस्य॒ वार॑सि॒ क्षय॑म् । वि तद्वो॑चे॒रध॑ द्वि॒तान्तः प॑श्यन्ति र॒श्मिभि॑: । स घा॑ विदे॒ अन्विन्द्रो॑ ग॒वेष॑णो बन्धु॒क्षिद्भ्यो॑ ग॒वेष॑णः ॥ तत्तु प्रयः प्रत्नथा ते शुशुक्वनं यस्मिन्यज्ञे वारमकृण्वत क्षयमृतस्य वारसि क्षयम् । वि तद्वोचेरध द्वितान्तः पश्यन्ति रश्मिभिः । स घा विदे अन्विन्द्रो गवेषणो बन्धुक्षिद्भ्यो गवेषणः ॥

Indra, in whatsoever rite (the priests) from of old have plural ced the brilliant (sacrificial) food for you upon the altar, in that plural ce of sacrifice you abide; do you declare what (rite), that men may thence behold the intermediate (firmament bright) with the rays (of the sun); for this, Indra, the searcher (of rain, is) the searcher after cattle, for (the benefit of) his kindred (worshippers), and knows in due course (the season of the rain).

नू इ॒त्था ते॑ पू॒र्वथा॑ च प्र॒वाच्यं॒ यदङ्गि॑रो॒भ्योऽवृ॑णो॒रप॑ व्र॒जमिन्द्र॒ शिक्ष॒न्नप॑ व्र॒जम् । ऐभ्य॑: समा॒न्या दि॒शास्मभ्यं॑ जेषि॒ योत्सि॑ च । सु॒न्वद्भ्यो॑ रन्धया॒ कं चि॑दव्र॒तं हृ॑णा॒यन्तं॑ चिदव्र॒तम् ॥ नू इत्था ते पूर्वथा च प्रवाच्यं यदङ्गिरोभ्योऽवृणोरप व्रजमिन्द्र शिक्षन्नप व्रजम् । ऐभ्यः समान्या दिशास्मभ्यं जेषि योत्सि च । सुन्वद्भ्यो रन्धया कं चिदव्रतं हृणायन्तं चिदव्रतम् ॥

Your exploits, Indra, are worthy to be glorified; now, verily, as well as in former times, when you did open the cloud for the Aṅgirasas, restoring to them their cattle--conquer for us, fight for us, as you did for them; humble in behalf of those who present libations, him who offers no worship; him who rages against us, and offers no worship.

सं यज्जना॒न्क्रतु॑भि॒: शूर॑ ई॒क्षय॒द्धने॑ हि॒ते त॑रुषन्त श्रव॒स्यव॒: प्र य॑क्षन्त श्रव॒स्यव॑: । तस्मा॒ आयु॑: प्र॒जाव॒दिद्बाधे॑ अर्च॒न्त्योज॑सा । इन्द्र॑ ओ॒क्यं॑ दिधिषन्त धी॒तयो॑ दे॒वाँ अच्छा॒ न धी॒तय॑: ॥ सं यज्जनान्क्रतुभिः शूर ईक्षयद्धने हिते तरुषन्त श्रवस्यवः प्र यक्षन्त श्रवस्यवः । तस्मा आयुः प्रजावदिद्बाधे अर्चन्त्योजसा । इन्द्र ओक्यं दिधिषन्त धीतयो देवाँ अच्छा न धीतयः ॥

Inasmuch as the hero (indra), rightly judges men by their deeds, therefore do the (pious), sacrificing (to him) for sustenance, become enabled, by the wealth that has been attained, to overcome (their foes); desirous of food, they diligently worship (him); the (sacrificial) food offered to him in the source of progeny (to the worshipper), and (men) worship him, that by their own strength they may overcome (their foes); pious sacrificers enjoy residence in the heaven of Indra; pious sacrificers are, as it were, in the presence of the gods.
