आयसैश्शङ्कुभिस्तीक्ष्णैः कीर्णं परवसोक्षितम् । वज्राशनिसमस्पर्शं परगोपुरदारणम् ॥ ३-२६-११
- and render the enemy powerless. It was with iron nails, covered and wetted with the enemy's marrow. It carried the killing touch of the thunderbolt and could break open the enemy's fort. ॥ 3-26-11॥

With the spear that looked like a mighty serpent, Dusana, the cruel demon, advanced towards Rama. ॥ 3-26-12॥

Seeing Dusana going to pounce upon him, Rama cut off with two arrows both his arms adorned with armlets. ॥ 3-26-13॥

With the hands amputated, his huge spear, like the banner of Indra, slipped off his hands and fell down on the ground on the battle front. ॥ 3-26-14॥
