ततॊ ऽनवशासच चतुरः सदश्वान; पुत्रॊ विराटस्य हिरण्यकक्ष्यान ते तद वयतीयुर धवजिनाम अनीकं; शवेता वहन्तॊ ऽरजुनम आजिमध्यात ।। ४-६१-१६ ।।

'Then the son of Virata urged his four splendid steeds, their flanks adorned with golden harnesses. Spurred onward, the white steeds carried Arjuna away from the midst of the battlefield and beyond the ranks of the infantry bearing their standards.' ।। 4-61-16 ।।

tatò 'navazAsaca caturaH sadazvAna; putrò virATasya hiraNyakakSyAna te tada vayatIyura dhavajinAma anIkaM; zavetA vahantò 'rajunama AjimadhyAta || 4-61-16 ||

'Seeing this, Bhishma, beholding that foremost of men retreating, showered him with arrows. And Partha, having slain Bhishma’s steeds, pierced him with ten shafts.' ।। 4-61-17 ।।

'Leaving Bhishma on the battlefield, and having first slain his charioteer, Arjuna, bow in hand, emerged from the midst of that multitude of cars like the sun breaking through dense clouds.' ।। 4-61-18 ।।

'How hath this one escaped from thy grasp? Deal with him so that he may not slip away again.' ।। 4-61-20 ।।
