ततॊ भल्लेन महता पृथु धारेण पाण्डवः छत्रं चिच्छेद भीष्मस्य तूर्णं तद अपतद भुवि ॥ ४-५९-८ ॥

sanskrit

'Then the son of Pāṇḍu, hurling a mighty javelin with a keen edge, cut down Bhīṣma’s white umbrella, which instantly fell to the earth.' ॥ 4-59-8 ॥

english translation

tatò bhallena mahatA pRthu dhAreNa pANDavaH chatraM ciccheda bhISmasya tUrNaM tada apatada bhuvi ॥ 4-59-8 ॥
