ततः परहस्य बीभत्सुः पृथु धारेण कार्मुकम नयकृन्तद गार्ध्रपत्रेण भीष्मस्यामिततेजसः ।। ४-५९-४१ ।।

'At this, Vibhatsu, laughing aloud, severed with a keen-edged arrow, winged like a vulture, the bow of Bhīṣma, that hero radiant as the sun.' ।। 4-59-41 ।।

tataH parahasya bIbhatsuH pRthu dhAreNa kArmukama nayakRntada gArdhrapatreNa bhISmasyAmitatejasaH || 4-59-41 ||

अथैनं दशभिर बाणैर परत्यविध्यत सतनान्तरे यतमानं पराक्रान्तं कुन्तीपुत्रॊ धनंजयः ।। ४-५९-४२ ।।

'Then Dhananjaya, the son of Kunti, pierced Bhīṣma in the breast with ten shafts, even as the latter contended with all his might.' ।। 4-59-42 ।।
