नेदं मनुष्याः शरद्दध्युर न हीदं तेषु विद्यते पौराणानां महास्त्राणां विचित्रायं समागमः ।। ४-५९-३६ ।।

'No human being could ever wield such a weapon, for it exists not among men. How wondrous indeed is this assembly of mighty weapons, known from the days of old!' ।। 4-59-36 ।।

nedaM manuSyAH zaraddadhyura na hIdaM teSu vidyate paurANAnAM mahAstrANAM vicitrAyaM samAgamaH || 4-59-36 ||

मध्यंदिनगतं सूर्यं परतपन्तम इवाम्बरे न शक्नुवन्ति सैन्यानि पाण्डवं परतिवीक्षितुम ।। ४-५९-३७ ।।

'No interval could be perceived between his taking up the arrows, nocking them, and releasing them from the Gandiva. The soldiers were incapable of gazing upon the son of Pāṇḍu, blazing like the midday sun in the sky.' ।। 4-59-37 ।।

madhyaMdinagataM sUryaM paratapantama ivAmbare na zaknuvanti sainyAni pANDavaM parativIkSituma || 4-59-37 ||

उभौ विश्रुतकर्माणाव उभौ युद्धविशारदौ उभौ सदृशकर्माणाव उभौ युधि दुरासदौ ।। ४-५९-३८ ।।

'Likewise, none dared to look upon Bhīṣma, the son of Ganga. Both were renowned for their mighty deeds, both possessed formidable prowess, both were equal in feats of heroism, and both were difficult to vanquish in battle.' ।। 4-59-38 ।।

इत्य उक्तॊ देवराजस तु पार्थ भीष्म समागमम पूजयाम आस दिव्येन पुष्पवर्षेण भारत ।। ४-५९-३९ ।।

'Thus, as addressed by the Gandharva regarding the combat between Pārtha and Bhīṣma, the lord of the celestials, O Bharata, honored both warriors with a shower of divine flowers.' ।। 4-59-39 ।।

itya uktò devarAjasa tu pArtha bhISma samAgamama pUjayAma Asa divyena puSpavarSeNa bhArata || 4-59-39 ||

ततॊ भीष्मः शांतनवॊ वामे पार्श्वे समर्पयत अस्यतः परतिसंधाय विवृतं सव्यसाचिनः ।। ४-५९-४० ।।

'Meanwhile, Bhīṣma, the son of Śāntanu, assailed Arjuna on the left flank, even as the wielder of the bow, able to shoot with either hand, prepared to pierce him.' ।। 4-59-40 ।।
