ततॊ भीष्मः शांतनवॊ वामे पार्श्वे समर्पयत अस्यतः परतिसंधाय विवृतं सव्यसाचिनः ॥ ४-५९-४० ॥
'Meanwhile, Bhīṣma, the son of Śāntanu, assailed Arjuna on the left flank, even as the wielder of the bow, able to shoot with either hand, prepared to pierce him.' ॥ 4-59-40 ॥
english translation
tatò bhISmaH zAMtanavò vAme pArzve samarpayata asyataH paratisaMdhAya vivRtaM savyasAcinaH ॥ 4-59-40 ॥
