अस्याविदूरे तु धनुर धवजाग्रे यस्य दृश्यते आचार्यस्यैष पुत्रॊ वै अश्वत्थामा महारथः ॥ ४-५०-९ ॥
'Near Drona stands the warrior whose banner bears the emblem of a bow—his son, the great car-warrior Aswatthaman—who is held in high regard by me and all warriors alike.' ॥ 4-50-9 ॥
