सर्वे चैव महात्मानः सर्वे धर्मार्थकॊविदाः येषां युधिष्ठिरॊ राजा कस्माद धर्मे ऽपराध्नुयुः ।। ४-४७-६ ।।
'All of them are noble souls, thoroughly versed in the meanings of the scriptures. With Yudhishthira as their guide, how could they ever stray from the path of virtue?' ।। 4-47-6 ।।
english translation
sarve caiva mahAtmAnaH sarve dharmArthakòvidAH yeSAM yudhiSThirò rAjA kasmAda dharme 'parAdhnuyuH || 4-47-6 ||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअलुब्धाश चैव कौन्तेयाः कृतवन्तश च दुष्करम न चापि केवलं राज्यम इच्छेयुस ते ऽनुपायतः ।। ४-४७-७ ।।
'The sons of Kunti do not yield to temptation; they have accomplished difficult feats with honor. Had they coveted their kingdom by unfair means, the descendants of the Kuru race would have shown their strength during the dice game.' ।। 4-47-7 ।।

alubdhAza caiva kaunteyAH kRtavantaza ca duSkarama na cApi kevalaM rAjyama iccheyusa te 'nupAyataH || 4-47-7 ||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतदैव ते हि विक्रान्तुम ईषुः कौरवनन्दनाः धर्मपाशनिबद्धास तु न चेलुः कषत्रिय वरतात ।। ४-४७-८ ।।
'Yet, bound by virtue, they have never strayed from the duties of the Kshatriya order. Whoever believes they have acted falsely is sure to be defeated.' ।। 4-47-8 ।।

tadaiva te hi vikrAntuma ISuH kauravanandanAH dharmapAzanibaddhAsa tu na celuH kaSatriya varatAta || 4-47-8 ||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयच चानृत इति खयायेद यच च गच्छेत पराभवम वृणुयुर मरणं पार्था नानृतत्वं कथं चन ।। ४-४७-९ ।।
'Whatever may be considered false/untrue, and whatever may lead to defeat, the sons of Pritha (Pandavas) would choose death rather than falsehood in any way.' ।। 4-47-9 ।।
english translation
yaca cAnRta iti khayAyeda yaca ca gaccheta parAbhavama vRNuyura maraNaM pArthA nAnRtatvaM kathaM cana || 4-47-9 ||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपराप्ते तु काले पराप्तव्यं नॊत्सृजेयुर नरर्षभाः अपि वज्रभृता गुप्तं तथा वीर्या हि पाण्डवाः ।। ४-४७-१० ।।
'When the time comes, those mighty bulls among men—the Pandavas—endowed with energy like that of Sikra (Indra), will not relinquish what is rightfully theirs, even if it is defended by the wielder of the thunderbolt himself.' ।। 4-47-10 ।।
