नायं कालॊ विरॊधस्य कौन्तेये समुपस्थिते कषन्तव्यं भवता सर्वम आचार्येण कृपेण च ।। ४-४६-६ ।।

sanskrit

'The matter before us is grave indeed. With the son of Kunti now come, there is no time for quarrel. You and Kripa should forgive all and stand united.' ।। 4-46-6 ।।

english translation

nAyaM kAlò viròdhasya kaunteye samupasthite kaSantavyaM bhavatA sarvama AcAryeNa kRpeNa ca || 4-46-6 ||

भवतां हि कृतास्त्रत्वं यथादित्ये परभा तथा यथा चन्द्रमसॊ लक्ष्म सर्वथा नापकृष्यते एवं भवत्सु बराह्मण्यं बरह्मास्त्रं च परतिष्ठितम ।। ४-४६-७ ।।

sanskrit

'Like the sun’s light that illumines all, the mastery of all weapons abides in you. Just as beauty is inseparable from the moon, so too are the Vedas and the Brahma weapon firmly established within you.' ।। 4-46-7 ।।

english translation

bhavatAM hi kRtAstratvaM yathAditye parabhA tathA yathA candramasò lakSma sarvathA nApakRSyate evaM bhavatsu barAhmaNyaM barahmAstraM ca paratiSThitama || 4-46-7 ||

चत्वार एकतॊ वेदाः कषात्रम एकत्र दृश्यते नैतत समस्तम उभयं कश्मिंश चिद अनुशुश्रुमः ।। ४-४६-८ ।।

sanskrit

'It is said that the four Vedas may dwell in one, and the qualities of a Kshatriya in another, but never have we known them to be united in one person as in the preceptor of the Bharata race and his son.' ।। 4-46-8 ।।

english translation

catvAra ekatò vedAH kaSAtrama ekatra dRzyate naitata samastama ubhayaM kazmiMza cida anuzuzrumaH || 4-46-8 ||

अन्यत्र भारताचार्यात सपुत्राद इति मे मतिः बरह्मास्त्रं चैव वेदाश च नैतद अन्यत्र दृश्यते ।। ४-४६-९ ।।

sanskrit

'Even so, who but Jamadagni himself stands superior to Drona, in the Vedantas, Puranas, and ancient histories, O king? A combination of the Brahma weapon with the Vedas,--this is never to be seen anywhere else.' ।। 4-46-9 ।।

english translation

anyatra bhAratAcAryAta saputrAda iti me matiH barahmAstraM caiva vedAza ca naitada anyatra dRzyate || 4-46-9 ||

आचार्य पुत्रः कषमतां नायं कालः सवभेदने सर्वे संहत्य युध्यामः पाकशासनिम आगतम ।। ४-४६-१० ।।

sanskrit

'O son of the preceptor, forgive us. This is no time for discord. Let us all unite and fight together against Indra’s son who has come.' ।। 4-46-10 ।।

AcArya putraH kaSamatAM nAyaM kAlaH savabhedane sarve saMhatya yudhyAmaH pAkazAsanima Agatama || 4-46-10 ||
