शरुतास ते शङ्खशब्दाश च भेरीशब्दाश च पुष्कलाः कुञ्जराणां च नदतां वयूढानीकेषु तिष्ठताम ।। ४-४१-११ ।।
'O tiger among men, dost thou lose heart in the midst of adversaries? Surely thou hast heard before the blare of many conchs, the peal of many trumpets, and the roar of elephants amid battle formations.' ।। 4-41-11 ।।
'Why then art thou so dispirited, so agitated, and so stricken with fear at the sound of this conch, as though thou wert but an ordinary man?' ।। 4-41-12 ।।
[उत्तर] शरुता मे शङ्खशब्दाश च भेरीशब्दाश च पुष्कलाः कुञ्जराणां च निनदा वयूढानीकेषु तिष्ठताम ।। ४-४१-१३ ।।
'Uttara said, “I have indeed heard the blare of many conchs, the peal of many trumpets, and the roar of elephants drawn up in battle-array."' ।। 4-41-13 ।।
नैवंविधः शङ्खशब्दः पुरा जातु मया शरुतः धवजस्य चापि रूपं मे दृष्टपूर्वं न हीदृशम धनुर अश चैव निर्घॊषः शरुतपूर्वॊ न मे कव चित ।। ४-४१-१४ ।।
'Yet never before have I heard the blast of such a conch, nor beheld a banner like this. Never have I heard the twang of a bow such as this.' ।। 4-41-14 ।।
naivaMvidhaH zaGkhazabdaH purA jAtu mayA zarutaH dhavajasya cApi rUpaM me dRSTapUrvaM na hIdRzama dhanura aza caiva nirghòSaH zarutapUrvò na me kava cita || 4-41-14 ||
अस्य शङ्खस्य शब्देन धनुषॊ निस्वनेन च रथस्य च निनादेन मनॊ मुह्यति मे भृशम ।। ४-४१-१५ ।।
'Truly, sir, with the blare of this conch, the twang of this bow, the unearthly cries of the beings stationed upon this banner, and the thunder of this chariot, my mind is utterly confounded.' ।। 4-41-15 ।।
