[उत्तर] कामं हरन्तु मत्स्यानां भूयांसं कुरवॊ धनम परहसन्तु च मां नार्यॊ नरा वापि बृहन्नडे ।। ४-३६-२४ ।।

sanskrit

'Uttara said: "Let the Kurus plunder the Matsyas of all their wealth. Let men and women, O Brihannala, laugh at me in scorn. Let the kine be lost, let the city be laid bare, let me face disgrace before my father himself—still, I say, there is no need for battle!"' ।। 4-36-24 ।।

english translation

[uttara] kAmaM harantu matsyAnAM bhUyAMsaM kuravò dhanama parahasantu ca mAM nAryò narA vApi bRhannaDe || 4-36-24 ||
