गवां शतसहस्राणि शरीमन्ति गुणवन्ति च वयम अपि निगृह्णीमॊ दविधाकृत्वा वरूथिनीम ॥ ४-२९-२६ ॥

'We, too, marching in two divisions, will capture thousands of fine cattle adorned with auspicious marks.' ॥ 4-29-26 ॥

gavAM zatasahasrANi zarImanti guNavanti ca vayama api nigRhNImò davidhAkRtvA varUthinIma ॥ 4-29-26 ॥

स सम गत्वा यथॊद्दिष्टां दिशं वह्नेर महीपतिः आदत्त गाः सुशर्माथ घर्मपक्षस्य सप्तमीम ॥ ४-२९-२७ ॥

'Vaisampayana continued: "Then, O lord of earth, the Trigarta warriors, accompanied by their fiercely powerful infantry, marched toward the south-eastern quarter, intent on hostilities with king Virata, driven by the desire to seize his cattle."' ॥ 4-29-27 ॥

अपरं दिवसं सर्वे राजन संभूय कौरवाः अष्टम्यां तान्य अगृह्णन्त गॊकुलानि सहस्रशः ॥ ४-२९-२८ ॥

'And Susarman set out on the seventh day of the dark fortnight to seize the cattle. Then, O king, on the eighth day that followed, the Kauravas too, accompanied by all their troops, began to seize the cattle by thousands.' ॥ 4-29-28 ॥
