'Vaisampayana said, 'O mighty king, the high-souled Pandavas of immeasurable prowess, having entered the service of King Virata and lived in disguise in his splendid city, successfully completed the promised period of concealment without being discovered.'' ।। 4-30-1 ।।
'While they were residing in that foremost of cities, faithfully performing the duties assigned to them by King Virata, the appointed time passed successfully.' ।। 4-30-2 ।।
'And it was at the close of their thirteenth year in exile, O Bharata, that Susarman forcefully seized thousands of King Virata’s cattle.' ।। 4-30-3 ।।
'And when the cattle had been seized, the herdsman of Virata hastened swiftly to the city. and saw the king of Matsya having jumped down from his chariot, wearing earrings.' ।। 4-30-4 ।।
शूरैः परिवृतं यॊधैः कुण्डलाङ्गद धारिभिः सद्भिश च मन्त्रिभिः सार्धं पाण्डवैश च नरर्षभैः ।। ४-३०-५ ।।
'There he beheld his sovereign, the king of the Matsyas, seated upon his throne amidst wise counselors, surrounded by the heroic sons of Pandu—those bulls among men—and valiant warriors adorned with earrings and armlets.' ।। 4-30-5 ।।
