'Vaishampayana said: O monarch, the mighty king of the Trigartas, Susarman—possessed of countless chariots and repeatedly humbled in the past by Kichaka the Suta of Matsya, aided by the Matsyas and the Salyas—now saw the moment as opportune. Without delay, seizing upon the occasion, he spoke these words with great urgency.' ।। 4-29-1 ।।
असकृन निकृतः पूर्वं मत्स्यैः साल्वेयकैः सह सूतेन चैव मत्स्यस्य कीचकेन पुनः पुनः ।। ४-२९-२ ।।
'I have been repeatedly humiliated in the past by the Matsyas, in alliance with the Salveyas— and again and again by the Suta Kichaka, the powerful chief of the Matsyas.' ।। 4-29-2 ।।
'And, O king, having been repeatedly overpowered by the mighty Kichaka, even while surrounded by my own kin, I was forcibly subdued. Now, turning to Karna, Susarman said to Duryodhana:' ।। 4-29-3 ।।
'That wretch—crooked in conduct, wrathful, and wicked-hearted—was renowned across the world for his prowess, yet was sinful in deed and exceedingly cruel. But now, slain by the Gandharvas, Kichaka is no more.' ।। 4-29-5 ।।
