सवराष्ट्र परराष्ट्रेषु जञातव्यं बलम आत्मनः उदये पाण्डवानां च पराप्ते काले न संशयः ।। ४-२८-६ ।।

'Therefore, now that the high-souled Pandavas have entered their incognito and are living in concealment and disguise, and the time (of their return) is approaching—stir yourself to action.' ।। 4-28-6 ।।

savarASTra pararASTreSu jaJAtavyaM balama AtmanaH udaye pANDavAnAM ca parApte kAle na saMzayaH || 4-28-6 ||

निवृत्तसमयाः पार्था महात्मानॊ महाबलाः महॊत्साहा भविष्यन्ति पाण्डवा हय अति तेजसः ।। ४-२८-७ ।।

'When the appointed term of their exile is complete, the illustrious and mighty sons of Pritha—endowed with boundless prowess—will return, surging with energy. Therefore, O child, act with prudence and seek to secure a favorable accord with them through sound policy.' ।। 4-28-7 ।।

nivRttasamayAH pArthA mahAtmAnò mahAbalAH mahòtsAhA bhaviSyanti pANDavA haya ati tejasaH || 4-28-7 ||

तस्माद बलं च कॊशं च नीतिश चापि विधीयताम यथाकालॊदये पराप्ते सम्यक तैः संदधामहे ।। ४-२८-८ ।।

'Strengthen your forces, replenish your treasury, and gauge your strength wisely, taking full measure of your allies—both the strong and the weak.' ।। 4-28-8 ।।

tasmAda balaM ca kòzaM ca nItiza cApi vidhIyatAma yathAkAlòdaye parApte samyaka taiH saMdadhAmahe || 4-28-8 ||

तात मन्यामि तत सर्वं बुध्यस्व बलम आत्मनः नियतं सर्वमित्रेषु बलवत्स्व अबलेषु च ।। ४-२८-९ ।।

'O dear child, I deem all this to be necessary. Therefore, understand and assess thy own strength thoroughly—both with regard to allies that are powerful and those that are weak.' ।। 4-28-9 ।।

उच्चावचं बलं जञात्वा मध्यस्थं चापि भारत परहृष्टम अप्रहृष्टं च संदधाम तथा परैः ।। ४-२८-१० ।।

'Having ascertained the strength, weakness, and indifference of thy forces—knowing also who among them are loyal, disloyal, or merely neutral—we must determine whether to confront the foe in battle or seek peace through negotiation.' ।। 4-28-10 ।।
