[सैर] बृहन्नडे किं नु तव सैरन्ध्र्या कार्यम अद्य वै या तवं वससि कल्याणि सदा कन्या पुरे सुखम ॥ ४-२३-२१ ॥
'Sairandhri replied, 'O blessed Brihannala, you who spend your days happily in the girls' quarters—what concern do you have with Sairandhri's troubles that prompts you to ask?'' ॥ 4-23-21 ॥
english translation
[saira] bRhannaDe kiM nu tava sairandhryA kAryama adya vai yA tavaM vasasi kalyANi sadA kanyA pure sukhama ॥ 4-23-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन हि दुःखं समाप्नॊषि सैरन्ध्री यद उपाश्नुते तेन मां दुःखिताम एवं पृच्छसे परहसन्न इव ॥ ४-२३-२२ ॥
'You bear none of the grief that Sairandhri must endure! It is because of this that you question me so, while I am distressed and subjected to mockery.' ॥ 4-23-22 ॥
english translation
na hi duHkhaM samApnòSi sairandhrI yada upAznute tena mAM duHkhitAma evaM pRcchase parahasanna iva ॥ 4-23-22 ॥

'Then Brihannala said, 'O blessed one, Brihannala too has her own unparalleled sorrows. She has been reduced to a state as low as that of a beast. You do not understand this, O girl. I have lived with you, and you have lived with us. When you are afflicted with misery, who would not feel it, O you of beautiful form? But no one can fully comprehend another's heart. That is why, O gentle one, you do not know my heart!'' ॥ 4-23-23 ॥

[bRhana] bRhannaDApi kalyANi duHkhama Apnòtya anuttamama tiryagyònigatA bAle na cainAma avabudhyase ॥ 4-23-23 ॥

'Vaisampayana continued, 'Then Draupadi, accompanied by those girls, entered the royal palace, seeking an audience with Sudeshna.'' ॥ 4-23-24 ॥

[vai] tataH sahaiva kanyAbhira daraupadI rAjavezma tata paraviveza sudeSNAyAH samIpama apalAyinI ॥ 4-23-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptताम अब्रवीद राजपुत्री विराट वचनाद इदम सैरन्ध्रि गम्यतां शीघ्रं यत्र कामयसे गतिम ॥ ४-२३-२५ ॥
'And when she came before the queen, Virata's wife addressed her at the king's command, saying, 'Go quickly, O Sairandhri, wherever you wish.'' ॥ 4-23-25 ॥

tAma abravIda rAjaputrI virATa vacanAda idama sairandhri gamyatAM zIghraM yatra kAmayase gatima ॥ 4-23-25 ॥
