राजा बिभेति भद्रं ते गन्धर्वेभ्यः पराभवात तवं चापि तरुणी सुभ्रु रूपेणाप्रतिमा भुवि ॥ ४-२३-२६ ॥

'May good fortune be yours—the king has become fearful after this humiliation by the Gandharvas. You are young, O beautiful one, with beauty unmatched on earth. Besides this, you attract men's desire, and the Gandharvas are known for their terrible anger.' ॥ 4-23-26 ॥

english translation

rAjA bibheti bhadraM te gandharvebhyaH parAbhavAta tavaM cApi taruNI subhru rUpeNApratimA bhuvi ॥ 4-23-26 ॥

[सैर] तरयॊदशाह मात्रं मे राजा कषमतु भामिनि कृतकृत्या भविष्यन्ति गन्धर्वास ते न संशयः ॥ ४-२३-२७ ॥

'Then Sairandhri said, 'O beautiful lady, let the king allow me to remain here for just thirteen more days. Without doubt, the Gandharvas will be greatly pleased by this.'' ॥ 4-23-27 ॥

english translation

[saira] tarayòdazAha mAtraM me rAjA kaSamatu bhAmini kRtakRtyA bhaviSyanti gandharvAsa te na saMzayaH ॥ 4-23-27 ॥

ततॊ मां ते ऽपनेष्यन्ति करिष्यन्ति च ते परियम धरुवं च शरेयसा राजा यॊष्क्यते सह बान्धवैः ॥ ४-२३-२८ ॥

'They will then take me away and do what would be favorable to Virata. Certainly, the king will gain great benefit from this action, along with his allies.' ॥ 4-23-28 ॥

tatò mAM te 'paneSyanti kariSyanti ca te pariyama dharuvaM ca zareyasA rAjA yòSkyate saha bAndhavaiH ॥ 4-23-28 ॥
