तं सिंहम इव संक्रुद्धं दृष्ट्वा गन्धर्वम आगतम वित्रेसुः सर्वतः सूता विषादभयकम्पिताः ।। ४-२२-२१ ।।

'And seeing that Gandharva approach like an enraged lion, the Sutas, struck with terror and overwhelmed with fear, fell into utter panic.' ।। 4-22-21 ।।

english translation

taM siMhama iva saMkruddhaM dRSTvA gandharvama Agatama vitresuH sarvataH sUtA viSAdabhayakampitAH || 4-22-21 ||

तम अन्तकम इवायान्तं गन्धर्वं परेक्ष्य ते तदा दिधक्षन्तस तदा जयेष्ठं भरातरं हय उपकीचकाः परस्परम अथॊचुस ते विषादभयकम्पिताः ।। ४-२२-२२ ।।

'Beholding the Gandharva advancing like Antaka, the god of death, the followers of Kichaka—who had been preparing to burn the body of their eldest— were shaken with fear and confusion, and said to one another in trembling voices.' ।। 4-22-22 ।।

english translation

tama antakama ivAyAntaM gandharvaM parekSya te tadA didhakSantasa tadA jayeSThaM bharAtaraM haya upakIcakAH parasparama athòcusa te viSAdabhayakampitAH || 4-22-22 ||

गन्धर्वॊ बलवान एति करुद्ध उद्यम्य पादपम सैरन्ध्री मुच्यतां शीघ्रं महन नॊ भयम आगतम ।। ४-२२-२३ ।।

'And they said to one another, 'Behold, the powerful Gandharva is coming, filled with rage and with an uprooted tree in hand! Let Sairindhri be released at once—for it is because of her that this danger has befallen us.'' ।। 4-22-23 ।।

gandharvò balavAna eti karuddha udyamya pAdapama sairandhrI mucyatAM zIghraM mahana nò bhayama Agatama || 4-22-23 ||

ते तु दृष्ट्वा तम आविद्धं भीमसेनेन पादपम विमुच्य दरौपदीं तत्र पराद्रवन नगरं परति ।। ४-२२-२४ ।।

'And seeing the tree uprooted by Bhimasena, they immediately released Draupadi and fled in terror toward the city.' ।। 4-22-24 ।।

te tu dRSTvA tama AviddhaM bhImasenena pAdapama vimucya daraupadIM tatra parAdravana nagaraM parati || 4-22-24 ||

दरवतस तांस तु संप्रेक्ष्य सवज्री दानवान इव शतं पञ्चाधिकं भीमः पराहिणॊद यमसादनम ।। ४-२२-२५ ।।

'And beholding them flee, Bhima—the mighty son of the Wind-god—hurled that great tree and sent a hundred and five of them to the abode of Yama, like the wielder of the thunderbolt slaying the Danavas.' ।। 4-22-25 ।।
