[वै] तस्मिन काले समागम्य सर्वे तत्रास्य बान्धवाः रुरुदुः कीचकं दृष्ट्वा परिवार्य समन्ततः ।। ४-२२-१ ।।

'Vaisampayana said: "Then all the relatives of Kichaka gathered at that spot. Seeing him lying there, they surrounded his body from all sides and broke into loud wails of grief."' ।। 4-22-1 ।।

english translation

[vai] tasmina kAle samAgamya sarve tatrAsya bAndhavAH ruruduH kIcakaM dRSTvA parivArya samantataH || 4-22-1 ||

सर्वे संहृष्टरॊमाणः संत्रस्ताः परेक्ष्य कीचकम तथा सर्वाङ्गसंभुग्नं कूर्मं सथल इवॊद्धृतम ।। ४-२२-२ ।।

'And beholding Kichaka—his limbs mangled, his body crushed, lying like a tortoise dragged from water onto dry land—all of them were seized with intense fear, their hair standing on end.' ।। 4-22-2 ।।

sarve saMhRSTaròmANaH saMtrastAH parekSya kIcakama tathA sarvAGgasaMbhugnaM kUrmaM sathala ivòddhRtama || 4-22-2 ||

पॊथितं भीमसेनेन तम इन्द्रेणेव दानवम संस्कारयितुम इच्छन्तॊ बहिर नेतुं परचक्रमुः ।। ४-२२-३ ।।

'Seeing him thus shattered by Bhima, like a Daitya slain by Indra, they carried his body away to prepare for the funeral rites.' ।। 4-22-3 ।।

pòthitaM bhImasenena tama indreNeva dAnavama saMskArayituma icchantò bahira netuM paracakramuH || 4-22-3 ||

ददृशुस ते ततः कृष्णां सूतपुत्राः समागताः अदूराद अनवद्याङ्गीं सतम्भम आलिङ्ग्य तिष्ठतीम ।। ४-२२-४ ।।

'Then those men of the Suta clan, having assembled there, saw Krishna, flawless in form, standing nearby with her arms resting against a pillar.' ।। 4-22-4 ।।

dadRzusa te tataH kRSNAM sUtaputrAH samAgatAH adUrAda anavadyAGgIM satambhama AliGgya tiSThatIma || 4-22-4 ||

समवेतेषु सूतेषु तान उवाचॊपकीचकः हन्यतां शीघ्रम असती यत्कृते कीचकॊ हतः ।। ४-२२-५ ।।

'And all the Kichakas cried out, ‘Let this unchaste woman be put to death—for it is because of her that Kichaka has lost his life!' ।। 4-22-5 ।।
