He loosed bhalla arrows—broad-headed, exceedingly sharp, yellow-hued, with golden fletching and stone-honed points. They pierced his armor and drank his blood upon the field of battle.

english translation

Then Dhṛṣṭadyumna, steadfast in great resolve, took up another bow; and advancing in the fight, he struck Droṇa with five arrows.

english translation

Then those two bull-like men, stained with blood, shone resplendent—like kiṃśuka trees in bloom in the spring season, O King.

english translation

Then, provoked, O King, Droṇa advanced at the front of the formation and again severed the bow of Drupada’s son.

english translation

Then, seeing him with his bow cut, the immeasurable-souled one showered him with arrows having well-formed joints, like a cloud raining upon a mountain.
