Then, heartening them all, Dhṛṣṭadyumna spoke: “O Pārtha, long ago Śambhu ordained me as the one who would bring about Droṇa’s end.”

english translation

In battle I shall confront Bhīṣma, and also Droṇa, Kṛpa, Śalya, and Jayadratha—indeed all who today are proud and confident in war, O king.

english translation

Then a mighty acclaim rose from the Pāṇḍavas—great archers, exultant for battle—when the Pārṣata, subduer of foes, stood ready for the fight.

english translation

Then Pārtha addressed Pārṣata (Dhṛṣṭadyumna), commander of the host: “The battle formation is called Krauñcāruṇa, a disposition meant to subdue all opposing forces.”

english translation

“That very formation which Bṛhaspati once taught to Indra in the war between devas and asuras—counter-array it properly, for it is designed to destroy the enemy divisions. Let the kings, together with the Kurus, behold what they have never seen before.”
