Nor do we know which is weightier for us—whether we should prevail, or whether they should prevail. Those Dhārtarāṣṭras stand before us; having slain them, we would not wish to live.

english translation

With my nature impaired by the fault of self-pity, and my mind bewildered about dharma, I ask you: tell me decisively what would be for my highest good. I am your student; instruct me—I have taken refuge in you.

english translation

For I do not see what could remove my grief, which is drying up my senses—even if I were to obtain on earth a prosperous, unrivaled kingdom, or even sovereignty among the gods.

english translation

Sañjaya said: Having spoken thus to Hṛṣīkeśa, Guḍākeśa—the scorcher of foes—said to Govinda, “I will not fight,” and then fell silent.

english translation

Then Hṛṣīkeśa (Kṛṣṇa), as if with a gentle smile, O Bhārata, addressed him—the despondent one standing between the two armies—speaking these words.
