Moist with musth and fragrant like lotuses, they followed behind the king—like rain-bearing clouds shedding water, or like mountains set in motion.

english translation

Bhīmasena, drawing along his formidable mace like an iron bar, pressed forward a great division of the army; difficult to check, he was resolute in intent.

english translation

Like the sun—hard to gaze upon, blazing and garlanded with rays—the warriors on every side could not steadily look upon him at close range.

english translation

This battle-array is called the ‘Vajra’; it is difficult to penetrate and faces in all directions. Its banner is archery-skill; formidable, it is protected by the archer who bears the Gāṇḍīva.

english translation

That battle-array which the Pāṇḍavas meet in counter-formation before your host—guarded by the Pāṇḍavas, it is unconquerable in the world of men.
