त्र्यंशं रिपोर्भवनगेऽवनिजं च मुक्त्वा चास्तं गतेऽर्धहरणं शनिशुक्रवर्जम्। भङ्गे त्रिकांशमथवा सुरसंनिकर्षे चन्द्रार्कयोः क्षयमुपैति तदर्धकार्धम्॥११॥
All planets except Mars occupying inimical houses will lose a third of their contribution; one eclipsed will lose half of its contribution execpt Venus and Saturn; one defeated in a planetary fight will lose ⅓; and the Sun and the Moon in conjunction with Rahu (or Ketu?) lose 1½ th of their contribution.

The Lagna contributes as many years as the number of the Navamsa (counted from Mesha) progressed by the lord of the Lagna. When the Lagna. is strong and is occupied by a strong benefic, the years should be increased by ¼th of the Ayus obtained. The Ayus should be quadrupled when the lord of the Lagna is conjoined with benefics or friends. When the Lagna is weak or conjoined with malefics, a fourth of the Ayus should be deducted. Thus should the Dasa of the Lagna be calculated.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptउच्चनीचविधिनायुराप्यते यत्र सम्यगधियोगसंभवः। सद्गृहत्वमुपगच्छति लग्नं यत्र चास्तभवनं ग्रहयुक्तम्॥१३॥
The longevity is correctly arrived at by calculating a planet's exact position from its exaltation and debilitation, where there is some benefic conjunction, or when the Lagna is strong and is a benefic house, or when the 7th house is occupied.

uccanIcavidhinAyurApyate yatra samyagadhiyogasaMbhavaH। sadgRhatvamupagacchati lagnaM yatra cAstabhavanaM grahayuktam॥13॥

The method of finding the total lifeperiod of a person by the उच्चनीय process is common to all beings; but, it is of two kinds on account of the difference between Dasa and Samskara (process of rectification by proper deductions, etc.)

hk transliteration by Sanscriptकुर्याद्दशासु संस्कारमंशकैर्बलवत्तरैः। तयोर्बलाबलेनैव कल्पयेन्मतिमान्नरः॥१५॥
For the various Dasa periods, rectification or deductions (संस्कार) will have to be made through the strongest of the Navamsas. And this will have to be made by an intelligent astrologer after considering the relative strength of the two.
