अंतर्दशाधिकारैः पूर्वोक्तदशाफलेषु वैषम्यम् I तस्माद्दशान्तरदशां ज्ञात्वां सम्यक् फंल हि वक्तव्यम् ॥१॥
While dealing with the results of sub-periods (Antardashas) within a main Dasha, it should be noted that the results differ from the ones stated for the major Dashas already. The exact results for both Dasas and Antardashas must be meticulously studied before providing predictions on events.

aMtardazAdhikAraiH pUrvoktadazAphaleSu vaiSamyam I tasmAddazAntaradazAM jJAtvAM samyak phaMla hi vaktavyam ॥1॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएकर्क्षगोऽर्धभांग त्रिकोण गस्त्र्यंशमपहरति I चतुरस्त्रे पादांश सप्तांशं सप्तमस्थश्च ॥२॥
The ones in the fifth, or the ones in the ninth form the Dasha lord will enjoy one third; the Grah(as) in the seventh from the Dasha lord will have one seventh of the Dasha and the ones in the fourth and the eighth will get one fourth.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptएषु स्थानेषु गता दशाधिनाथाद्दशापहर्तारः। होरा यदि राहुयुता नो तेषु दशाफलानि सिध्यन्ति॥३॥
Planets placed in the several positions aforesaid with respect to the Dasa-lord are the only ones that partake of the entire Dasa period. If Rahu should occupy the Lagna, the Dasa effects will not be felt.

eSu sthAneSu gatA dazAdhinAthAddazApahartAraH। horA yadi rAhuyutA no teSu dazAphalAni sidhyanti॥3॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअन्तर्दशाविभागे रविशशिनोरेव राहुणा सार्धम्। यमसदृशफलं वाच्यं नान्येषां केचिदिच्छन्ति॥४॥
In the matter of determining the sub-division of an Antardasa, the cases of the Sun and the Moon are peculiar. If one of these be conjoined with Rahu, the sub-period will have to be increased by one half; and their effects will be like those for Saturn and none else. This is the opinion of some.

The Dasha period of a Grah should be converted into Ghatis and multiplied by 84.
