hk transliteration by Sanscriptयद्युच्चान्तिकविवरं पिण्डाच्छोध्यं ग्रहस्य तस्यायुः। नीचसमीपाद्विवरं पिण्डार्धयुतं ग्रहस्य तस्यायुः॥७॥
- by one half of its total number of Pindayurdaya years and then deduce the period of Ayurdaya contributed by the planet.

yadyuccAntikavivaraM piNDAcchodhyaM grahasya tasyAyuH। nIcasamIpAdvivaraM piNDArdhayutaM grahasya tasyAyuH॥7॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमूढारिदृश्यहरणं युद्धासुरसंनिकर्षहरणं च। हरणानि ज्ञात्वैवं गुरूपदेशेन कर्तव्यम्॥८॥
Deductions such as are for planets that are eclipsed, that are in inimical houses, and that are in the visible half of the zodiac, as well as for those that are at war and those that are in close proximity to Rahu(?), will have to be made after ascertaining them from the preceptor's instructions.

mUDhAridRzyaharaNaM yuddhAsurasaMnikarSaharaNaM ca। haraNAni jJAtvaivaM gurUpadezena kartavyam॥8॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्यैवमंशकदशामेवं कृत्वा व्ययादिहरणं च। पूर्वदशासु समार्धं त्यक्त्वा शेषं ग्रहस्य शुद्धायुः॥९॥
The life-period according to the Amsayurdaya-system should thus be calculated by the above. method and the deductions for planets posited in the six Rasis beginning with the 12th house counted backwards will have also to be made likewise. Leaving off an exact half of the years contributed by those planets which are under the above circumstances, viz, eclipse, debilitation, etc., the remaining should be taken as the net period of years contributed by the several planets towards the longevity of the person.

tasyaivamaMzakadazAmevaM kRtvA vyayAdiharaNaM ca। pUrvadazAsu samArdhaM tyaktvA zeSaM grahasya zuddhAyuH॥9॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएकद्वित्रिचतुर्थपञ्चमरसान् भागान् हरन्ति व्यया- द्वामं यात्सुपदक्रमेण भवने पापेषु सत्सूक्तवत्। अर्थं याति शुभाशुभैस्तु सहिते पापस्य भागं हरेत् त्र्याद्येष्वेकगतेषु वीर्यहरणं कुर्यान्न शेषेषु च॥१०॥
When malefics occupy the six signs beginning with the 12th house counted backwards, deductions from their contributions will have to be made in the order of 1, ½,⅓, ¼ , ⅕, and ⅙ respectively ; when benefics occupy these houses, the reductions enjoined are a half of the above ones in the several houses; when both benefics and malefics are combined in these houses, the reductions due to the malefics alone need be made; and when more than two planets are posited in a house, the reducton due to the strongest of them alone should be made. and not for the others.
