तस्यैवमंशकदशामेवं कृत्वा व्ययादिहरणं च। पूर्वदशासु समार्धं त्यक्त्वा शेषं ग्रहस्य शुद्धायुः॥९॥
The life-period according to the Amsayurdaya-system should thus be calculated by the above. method and the deductions for planets posited in the six Rasis beginning with the 12th house counted backwards will have also to be made likewise. Leaving off an exact half of the years contributed by those planets which are under the above circumstances, viz, eclipse, debilitation, etc., the remaining should be taken as the net period of years contributed by the several planets towards the longevity of the person.
