मुक्तपद्मासनं कृत्वा उत्तानशयनञ्चरेत् । कूर्पराभ्यां शिरो वेष्टय मत्स्यासनन्तु रोगहा॥२-२१॥

While doing Mukta Padmasana, that is, without holding the toes of the feet with both the hands, just applying Padmasana and lying straight (lying on the waist) and keeping the head between the elbows is called Matsyasana. Matsyasana cures all the diseases of the seeker.

प्रसार्य पादौ भुवि दण्डरूपौ संन्यस्तभालं चितियुग्ममध्ये । यत्नेन पादौ च धृतौ कराभ्यां योगिन्द्रपीठं पश्चिमोत्तानमाहु:॥२-२२॥

Sitting in Dandasana position with both your legs spread in front on the ground, keep your forehead between both the knees and hold the toes of both the feet firmly. Yogis have considered this as the main asana. Which is called Paschimottan Asana.

उदरं पश्चिमाभासं कृत्वा तिष्ठति यत्नतः । नम्राङ्गं वामपादं हि दक्षजानूपरि न्यसेत् ॥२-२३॥

तत्र याम्यं कूपरञ्च याम्यं करे च वक्त्रकम् । भ्रुवोर्मध्ये गतां दृष्टिं पीठं मात्स्येन्द्रमुच्यते ॥२-२४॥

After this, rotate the mouth and place it on the left hand (shoulder) and place the vision in the middle of the two eyebrows (Agya Chakra). Doing this is called Matsyendrasana.

जानूर्वोन्तरे पादौ उत्तानौव्यक्तसंस्थितौ । गुल्फौ चाच्छाद्य हस्ता भ्यामुत्तानाभ्यां प्रयत्नतः ॥२-२५॥
