Movement of Vata hindered by Kapha, dryness of the throat, loss of voice, loss of consciousness and obstruction to breathing are the features of the disease Svaraha, which is caused by Vata.
Vata moving throughout the interior of the mouth gives rise to ulcers which shift from place to place, are reddish-brown, dry, and make the lips coppery red with loose skin;
the tongue becomes intolerant to cold, feels heavy, cracked, and feels as though full of thorns, and there is difficulty in opening the mouth—this is Mukhapaka (caused by Vata).
Vata getting obstructed in its downwards movement in the rectum by piles, abnormal tumors, Kapha etc. begins to move upwardsproducing bad smell (fecal smell) in the mouth.This is called as Urdhvaguda.
