भूतं जयेदहिं सेच्छं जपहोमबलिव्रतैः । तपःशीलसमाधानदानज्ञानदयादिभिः ॥ १ ॥
Demons / evil spirits which have no desire to cause harm (the person seized by them) should be won over by incantations (of scared hymns), fire sacrifices, offering oblations,observing vows,penance,good conduct,religious meditation,charity,acquiring knowledge,compassion etc.
