एकैकश्च षड्रसा भवन्ति- मधुरः(१), अम्लः(२), लवणः(३), कटुकः(४), तिक्तः(५), कषायः(६), इति ॥१६॥
Each of the six tastes (Rasas) is as follows: 1. Sweet (Madhura), 2. Acid (Amla), 3. Saline (Lavana), 4. Pungent (Katuka), 5. Bitter (Tikta), 6. Astringent (Kashaya). Thus, the six Rasas are enumerated.
