Now, we shall describe the specifications of the instruments: The instrument should be made of iron, bone, horn, or wood, measuring four fingerbreadths in length and five fingerbreadths in circumference for men, and six fingerbreadths in circumference for women. It should have two openings for visibility and one opening for operation; with a single opening, there is no risk of the instrument, caustic agents, or fire being misused. The diameter of the openings should be three fingerbreadths, and the remaining length of the instrument should be half a fingerbreadth beneath the half-fingerbreadth upper edge of the instrument. This is the general specification for the instrument.

Now, we shall describe the applications for hemorrhoids: The first application consists of a mixture of the juice of the snuhi plant (Euphorbia nerifolia) and turmeric powder. The second application is made of the feces of a chicken, mixed with turmeric and long pepper, combined with cow urine and bile. The third application consists of the paste made from danti (Himalayan ginger), chitraka (Plumbago zeylanica), suvarcikā (Curcuma longa), and the root of angalī (Ginger). The fourth application includes the paste of pippali (Long pepper), salt, kushta (Saussurea lappa), and shireesh fruit, combined with the snuhi plant juice or milk. This application has the properties to pacify hemorrhoids, especially when prepared with matured oils.

Now, we shall describe the formulas for treating hemorrhoids that are not visible through medicinal applications: In the morning, one should consume gudhaharitaki (a mixture of jaggery and haritaki) and brahmacāri (celibate) prepared with cow urine, or a hundred haritaki fruits mixed with honey according to one's strength. The root of apamārga (Achyranthes aspera) can be used with rice water and honey every day. One can also use the paste of shatavari root with milk, or take chitraka powder mixed with a sour preparation, or use bhallātaka powder with sour buttermilk. One can also sprinkle chitraka root paste or a sour preparation in a vessel and use it during meals. This is also applicable for various conditions related to bhārgya, as well as for āṣṭavalkala and amalaki mixed with guduchi. One can use pippali and the juice of pippali roots with chitraka, vāṭa, and other preparations as before. If one is not eating, they should consume sour buttermilk every day. One can use shṛṅgavera (ginger), punarnavā, and chitraka decoction mixed with milk, or kutaṭa (various plants) or pippali mixed with honey. The following can be taken: 1. Chitraka root decoction mixed with honey or sour water. 2. Plakṣa (Ficus lacor) leaves mixed with sour water. 3. Plakṣa or kutaṭa root decoction. 4. Pāṭala, apamārga, brhati, and plakṣa mixed with ghee. The morning intake of the following will increase the fire of digestion and pacify the hemorrhoids.

Taking two or five roots of dantī, chitraka, and other herbs in equal proportions, they should be boiled in four times the quantity of water. After boiling, the remaining decoction should be collected and mixed with equal parts of cold jaggery and kept in a ghee container. This should be set aside for a month. In the morning, a dose should be taken regularly. This will prevent hemorrhoids, diarrhea, jaundice, and help in alleviating indigestion; it will also enhance digestive fire.

Two parts each of pippali, maricha, vidanga, lava, and lodhra; five parts of indravaruni; ten parts of kapitha; and half a prastha of pathya fruits, and a prastha of dhatri fruits should be taken. This mixture should be boiled in four times the quantity of water. The remaining decoction should be collected, mixed with equal parts of cold jaggery, and kept in a ghee container, discarding the residue. In the morning, a dose should be taken as per strength. This is known as Khaḷva Rishta, which is effective for spleen disorders, digestive fire, hemorrhoids, diarrhea, jaundice, swelling, skin diseases, tumors, abdominal pain, and worms, and it promotes strength and complexion.
