एकैकस्याभवत्तेषां राजन्नर्बुदमर्बुदम् । भोक्ष्यते यद्वंशधरैर्मही मन्वन्तरं परम् ॥ ४-२८-३१ ॥

My dear King Prācīnabarhiṣat, the sons of Malayadhvaja gave birth to many thousands and thousands of sons, and all of these have been protecting the entire world up to the end of one Manu’s life span and even afterward. ॥ 4-28-31 ॥

english translation

हे राजा प्राचीनबर्हिषत्, मलयध्वज राजा के पुत्रों ने लाखों पुत्रों को जन्म दिया और ये सब एक मनु की अवधि के अन्त तक तथा उसके बाद भी सारे संसार का पालन करते रहे। ॥ ४-२८-३१ ॥

अगस्त्यः प्राग्दुहितरमुपयेमे धृतव्रताम् । यस्यां दृढच्युतो जात इध्मवाहात्मजो मुनिः ॥ ४-२८-३२ ॥

The great sage named Agastya married the first-born daughter of Malayadhvaja, the avowed devotee of Lord Kṛṣṇa. From her one son was born, whose name was Dṛḍhacyuta, and from him another son was born, whose name was Idhmavāha. ॥ 4-28-32 ॥

english translation

भगवान् कृष्ण के परम भक्त मलयध्वज की पहली कन्या का विवाह अगस्त्य मुनि के साथ हुआ। उससे एक पुत्र उत्पन्न हुआ जिसका नाम दृढच्युत था जिससे इध्मवाह नामक एक पुत्र उत्पन्न हुआ। ॥ ४-२८-३२ ॥

विभज्य तनयेभ्यः क्ष्मां राजर्षिर्मलयध्वजः । आरिराधयिषुः कृष्णं स जगाम कुलाचलम् ॥ ४-२८-३३ ॥

After this, the great saintly King Malayadhvaja divided his entire kingdom among his sons. Then, in order to worship Lord Kṛṣṇa with full attention, he went to a solitary place known as Kulācala. ॥ 4-28-33 ॥

english translation

इसके पश्चात् राजर्षि मलयध्वज ने अपना सारा राज्य अपने पुत्रों में बाँट दिया। तब वे पूरे मनोयोग से भगवान् कृष्ण की पूजा करने के लिए कुलाचल नामक एकान्त स्थान में चले गये। ॥ ४-२८-३३ ॥

हित्वा गृहान् सुतान् भोगान् वैदर्भी मदिरेक्षणा । अन्वधावत पाण्ड्येशं ज्योत्स्नेव रजनीकरम् ॥ ४-२८-३४ ॥

Just as the moonshine follows the moon at night, immediately after King Malayadhvaja departed for Kulācala, his devoted wife, whose eyes were very enchanting, followed him, giving up all homely happiness, despite family and children. ॥ 4-28-34 ॥

english translation

जिस प्रकार रात्रि में चाँदनी चन्द्रमा का अनुसरण करती है, उसी तरह राजा मलयध्वज के कुलाचल जाते ही मादक नेत्रों वाली उसकी अनुरक्त पत्नी अपने घर, पुत्र के होते हुए भी समस्त भोगों को तिलांजलि देकर उसके साथ हो ली। ॥ ४-२८-३४ ॥

तत्र चन्द्रवसा नाम ताम्रपर्णी वटोदका । तत्पुण्यसलिलैर्नित्यमुभयत्रात्मनो मृजन् ॥ ४-२८-३५ ॥

In the province of Kulācala, there were rivers named Candravasā, Tāmraparṇī and Vaṭodakā. King Malayadhvaja used to go to those pious rivers regularly and take his bath there. Thus he purified himself externally and internally. ॥ 4-28-35 ॥

english translation

कुलाचल प्रान्त में चन्द्रवसा, ताम्रपर्णी तथा वटोदका नाम की तीन नदियाँ थीं। राजा मलयध्वज नित्य ही इन पवित्र नदियों में जाकर स्नान करता था। इस प्रकार उसने बाहर तथा अन्दर से अपने को पवित्र कर लिया था। ॥ ४-२८-३५ ॥
