यूयं तदनुमोदध्वं पितृदेवर्षयोऽमलाः । कर्तुः शास्तुरनुज्ञातुस्तुल्यं यत्प्रेत्य तत्फलम् ॥ ४-२१-२६ ॥

I request all the purehearted demigods, forefathers and saintly persons to support my proposal, for after death the result of an action is equally shared by its doer, its director and its supporter. ॥ 4-21-26 ॥

english translation

मैं समस्त शुद्ध अन्त:करण वाले देवताओं, पितरों तथा साधुपुरुषों से प्रार्थना करता हूँ कि वे मेरे प्रस्ताव का समर्थन करें, क्योंकि मृत्यु के पश्चात् किसी भी कर्म का फल इसके कर्ता, आदेशकर्ता तथा समर्थक के द्वारा समान रूप से भोग्य होता है। ॥ ४-२१-२६ ॥

अस्ति यज्ञपतिर्नाम केषाञ्चिदर्हसत्तमाः । इहामुत्र च लक्ष्यन्ते ज्योत्स्नावत्यः क्वचिद्भुवः ॥ ४-२१-२७ ॥

My dear respectable ladies and gentlemen, according to the authoritative statements of śāstra, there must be a supreme authority who is able to award the respective benefits of our present activities. Otherwise, why should there be persons who are unusually beautiful and powerful both in this life and in the life after death? ॥ 4-21-27 ॥

english translation

माननीय देवियो तथा सज्जनो, शास्त्रों के प्रामाणिक कथनों के अनुसार कोई ऐसा परम अधिकारी होना चाहिए जो हमें अपने-अपने वर्तमान कार्यों के अनुसार पुरस्कृत कर सके। अन्यथा इस जीवन में तथा मृत्यु के बाद के जीवन में कुछ लोग असामान्य सुन्दर तथा शक्तिमान क्योंकर हो सकते हैं? ॥ ४-२१-२७ ॥

मनोरुत्तानपादस्य ध्रुवस्यापि महीपतेः । प्रियव्रतस्य राजर्षेरङ्गस्यास्मत्पितुः पितुः ॥ ४-२१-२८ ॥

This is confirmed not only by the evidence of the Vedas but also by the personal behavior of great personalities like Manu, Uttānapāda, Dhruva, Priyavrata and my grandfather Aṅga, ॥ 4-21-28 ॥

इसकी पुष्टि न केवल वेदों के साक्ष्य से होती है, अपितु मनु, उत्तानपाद, ध्रुव, प्रियव्रत तथा मेरे पितामह अंग एवं महाराज प्रह्लाद ॥ ४-२१-२८ ॥

ईदृशानामथान्येषामजस्य च भवस्य च । प्रह्लादस्य बलेश्चापि कृत्यमस्ति गदाभृता ॥ ४-२१-२९ ॥

as well as by many other great personalities and ordinary living entities, exemplified by Mahārāja Prahlāda and Bali, all of whom are theists, believing in the existence of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who carries a club. ॥ 4-21-29 ॥

तथा बलि जैसे अन्य महापुरुषों तथा सामान्य व्यक्तियों के व्यक्तिगत आचरण द्वारा होती है। ये सभी आस्तिक थे और गदाधारी भगवान् के अस्तित्व में विश्वास करने वाले थे। ॥ ४-२१-२९ ॥

दौहित्रादीन् ऋते मृत्योः शोच्यान् धर्मविमोहितान् । वर्गस्वर्गापवर्गाणां प्रायेणैकात्म्यहेतुना ॥ ४-२१-३० ॥

Although abominable persons like my father, Vena, the grandson of death personified, are bewildered on the path of religion, all the great personalities like those mentioned agree that in this world the only bestower of the benedictions of religion, economic development, sense gratification, liberation or elevation to the heavenly planets is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. ॥ 4-21-30 ॥

यद्यपि धर्म के पथ पर साक्षात् मृत्यु के दौहित्र तथा मेरे पिता वेन जैसे शोचनीय पुरुष मोहग्रस्त हो जाते हैं, किन्तु ऊपर जिन समस्त महापुरुषों का उल्लेख हुआ है, वे यह स्वीकार करते हैं कि चतुर्वर्गों—धर्म, अर्थ, काम तथा मोक्ष—का अथवा स्वर्ग के एकमात्र दाता पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम परमेश्वर हैं। ॥ ४-२१-३० ॥
